fuel line query

[turnipbmw]

working on a '93 600 that I bought in bits and there is a 'return' fuel pipe coming off the carbs just above the feed pipe.

Cant see where it goes to, wont reach the tank and cant see anything else.

Not visible in haynes manual.

My 900 doesnt even have the plastic 'T' piece coming off the carbs so thats no help

any ideas ?

Is it just the spill pipes that go into the side pods?

I think thats part of the vent pipework that goes down the left side of the engine and vents just at the front of the left hand casing???

I can have a proper look with the tank up on mine if you get stuck?
