Used the bike over the weekend - ran fine -
came to use it this morning - battery fully charged - everything working - press start button - nothing - not a sound.
My bike does not have a sidestand switch and I cant find a clutch switch so I am assuming it must be the start button.
All fuses are good, ignition light on - everything looks fine.
Its an early M600

Any ideas ?

Do you hear a click when you press the button? If not try giving the solenoid a whack with something, that might be sticking??

Check the button works with a multimeter.

Check the big mo fo sized fuse under the tank if you haven't allready.

Check all the connections on the battery, solenoid, etc are all making good contact (been cought out with this before when wires just fell off on mine!!)

If all thats ok could be the starter motor maybe??

Good Luck!

had to ask, just incase you had inadvertantly switched it off and not noticed, i and probably millions of other bikers have done it in the past lol.

Try turning the bars from lock to lock while holding the start button on. My M750 has twice suffered an internal break in one of the wires from the kill/start switch unit where they pass to the right of the headstock. I toured yorkshire for three days last year and all the time the bike would only start on full right lock. Its possible to repair by cutting into the loom and soldering/shrinktube, but precise location of the break is essential.

Sorted - gave the solenoid a tap and cleaned the connection on the relay - started first touch of the button.
Thanks for all the help

I've got the exact same problem.... where's the solenoid so I can give it a boot?..... Errr, I mean a gentle tap :-)
