Will an Ohlins from an ST4 fit S2R 800?

Hi All
I have been offered a second hand an Ohlins shock from a Ducati ST4 (Model DU0150 which has been replaced by DU701 in current catalogue) that i have been told should fit my S2R 800

It has the same fittings and body length although 2mm less travel than the "officially" recommended shock (DU321)
unlike the 321, this unit has a remote canister and remote preload aduster so as long as the cables dont foul anything and i can find a way to mount the accessories it should work right?

I have found some anecdotal evidence that it will fit on a 620ie and a 900ie but be nice to know if any one else has fitted such a shock to a Single sided monster

Providing the rear end on the 800 is the same as the S2R1000 yes.

someone correct me if im wrong but from waht i have seen, i think the 800 and 1000 use the same frame and swingarm so i reckon it should work
