Ok so I took loads of photo's and tagged up every wire so I could put things back together..... but there's always something missing.

Coming out of the side of the regulator are three pairs of wires, one of those pairs is a double yellow each with a connector. I know these go to the alternator however the two connectors into the alt cover look exactly the same. can anyone tell me how the hell i'm meant to know which one goes to which one?

I presume it does make a difference but i might be wrong?

Thanks

It doesn't normally make any difference, they do the same thing. (At least on most machines)

It would be handy if it doesn't matter.

I think they don't make a difference, but if you took pictures any mark (dirt, scratches) can tell a lot.

PD, it makes no difference to the yellow ones for which way they go mate - just plug them in.

Dave,

Whatever you do - don't cut the red wire! :on:

Strangely, the only remaining wire i'm still to find a home for IS a red wire. It comes out from beneath the fuse box with a 2 foot long wire and my note says RED REV, me thinks its the red wire with no home next to the previously mentioned yellow wires.

All in good time.
