I think my poor Monster is about to die

My bike is a ten year old 600 dark, its done 10k and two days ago, there was a nasty rattle coming from inside the lower engine casing, I think on the left, that went away but now I've noticed a bit of fresh oil on the air fin on the vertical cylinder running on to the exhuast link, looks like its coming from the plug!

Funnily enough its running fine but this isn't a good sign is it.

Anybody heard of oil leaking from the plug before?

I'll take it to Rosso Corse tomorrow and let people know the actual diagnosis.

Have you checked the plug to see if it is tight (not too tight mind) and that the crush washer is in good nick. Why not try a new/spare?

Rosso Corse change the plugs for hotter ones, changed the oil and filter as well, nothing fell out the sump when the old oil came out so all is good again, in fact it feels like new.

I really thought it was going to cash in its chips, I'm well chuffed.

I can honestly say that was the worse rattle I've ever heard from an engine the other day so God knows.
