My indicators work fine, but the green indicator signal light has stopped working. (It's use to work intermittently, if you gave the wire a prod or when the lights were damp, that was year and a half ago.)

But now I can't seem to make it come on no matter what I do, I've cleaned the the back of the connectors with isopropyl but still no joy. All the other light on the clock work and light up when you start the bike.

And help, recommendations??? I'm currently at the point of dismantling the clocks. But don't know how to remove the hands I don't want to snap them.

The hands just pull off, or should!
The lights are surface mount LEDs, not the easiest things to replace.

Thanks nick, my old man's an electrical engineer so he should be able to help out on that front.

I though they should just pull off, I just didn't want to pull to hard and brake them

Try using a couple of tea spoons to gently prise the needles off.

Not sure how fragile the Monster ones are, but have heard numerous stories of car needles snapping! ;)

The center pivot point of the needles is in two pieces, lift up and slide the outer one off the needle, then use a couple of tea spoons to leaver off the needle itself. (Best to mark the postition of the needle to help you get it back in the right place when re assembling) Then there is a bush that has a two latch prongs that have to be pushed in to free them.

I had a spare to play with and they do come off pretty easily

Indeed they have been known to fall off by themselves :grump:

Well I'm guess my needles have came of easily in the past! I've realised the hard way that the old owner of my bike glued them in place :nash: ( This is extra hassle I did not need but should be able to fix this by making an extra sleeve to support the needles.

Back to the problem of the indicator led.......I first checked LED was working with the multimeter (diode/ continuity check)

I then checked the LED was still working along the circuit with the multimeter attached to one side of the diode and and other across different resistor. I found when across the resistor on the right hand side was working intermittently. On close inspection you could see the dry joint cracked and needed re-soldering.

There the resistor lifed every easy from the circuit board.

As I glued the hands back on with araldite I had to wait a day for the glue to fully dry.

Today I put the clocks back together and took my bike for a MOT and it passed!!!! so I'm happy, they young apprentice at the garage even too a photo of my bike.
