New battery?

Hi all

Didn't use the bike last week at all, came to it on Sunday and it was dead as a dodo.
The RAC man checked and it showed that there was plenty of current going back into the battery when it was running.

Is it looking like I need a new battery as its not holding the charge or is it just because it wasn't used for 7 days?

sounds like it buddy.. what the cranking voltage? if its used daily an old battery will be fine but if its old and cant hold a charge much and you stop using it daily it does what you have there...

I think the battery is as old as the bike... its an 06 plate bike.
I've not checked the cranking voltage yet.

batteries usually last between 3 and 5 years... as a rule of thumb not a definitive rule lol
