Hello all
My bargin Pirelli supercorsa race scrubs are starting to look like slicks after 3K+ mile especially at the front!!!

time to replace them methinks

i do lots of city and B road riding as well as the occasional trackday, am planning on some touring too this year (if i get my ass in gear).
the supercorses were awesome on the track and in dry conditions on twisty roads, but in the wet over winter they were dicey as hell and my rear is a bit square after plodding round town timidly.

looking for a grippy tyre with fair wet performance and reasonable wear rate

I know tyres are a contentious issue (and a personal preference) on bike forums but would apprecaite others comments but please no flame wars :-)

Pilot Power 2CT all the way, way better than the Pirellis

The S4Rs came with 2CTs and the retard with Pirelli's, I just couldn't get on with the Pirelli's so when the wheels on the retard were powder coated I had 2CTs fitted on them before refitting and to my mind the bike was transformed.

Just had Pilot Power 2CTs fitted. They are very confidence inspiring. Obviously can't comment on wear rate yet but previous Pilot Powers did 1 front and 2 rears in 10,000 miles.

Got stradas on at the moment as I couldn't get another pair of maxis at the time.
They are a very even match as tyres but the stradas don't turn into bends as fast which I like in a tyre.
Oh and the maxis went through the winter but I ran them to the edges, the stradas have only seen nice weather (comparitively) but have a chicken strip.

thanks all, I reckon i'll go wih the 2ct

FWR in Kennington have quoted me £230 all inc VAT, balancing and refitting to the bike, drive in drive out service, which seems like cracking deal considering i was quoted £260 for the tyres + £50 fitting + VAT by my friendly neighbourhood Duc specialist whom i love to bits but £365!, ouch guys ouch!!

I've got the Pilot Road versions I think (can't be bothered moving from the sofa to check though). Very good so far, and supposedly a little harder in the centre than the powers for extra durability, while remaining sticky on the edges :yoparty:

Let us know what you think Stewart, it's a toss up between those or Power Ones for the track bike this year.

Going to Spain in June and wouldn't mind trying some different tyres.
Bridgestones were great in the dry, worst tyres in the world in the wet.
Currently using Pirelli Diablos, and really like them, no complaints with them at all (not track day or knee down riding, just on the roads).

Sounds like you guys give the thumbs up for Pilot Power 2CT and Pilot Road version, any other thoughts for twisty b-road grip and durability on the straights?
