£500 was a bargain!..
Its a cracking bike..
I wish I had got the £800 one I saw as its a nice colour.
But I was put off as it had no service history.

As it was the one I went for needed lots doing to it .. and got me home then broke down, the back brake lever fell off and was hanging .. so I rode home with no back brake.
Then it was shipped up to Norfolk to be fixed.
I will gradually make it my own as I can't have a bigger bike as I am so short and I went for the most basic bike so touch wood can't go too wrong! I went for carbed model on purpose.
I think its a good base model ... although I wish people would stop flashing their SS's about !!! I would like a little yellow one. But 2 Dukes ... couldn't afford to run two of the wallet drainers!

hahaha this was offered to me as my mate had had enough of it looking crap and got an r1.. i was going to get a cbr 9 but i took pity on this as i thought to myself i have the time and ability to fix it so why not... although i am a car mechanic really so there are bits i dont know about on bikes lol... i wish there were ore m600s here although i wouldnt say no to an s4r....

I looked at a baby blade a while ago and stupidly got a kwack.
I like the older blades with beam frame and when its fairing free and exposed.
Someone's got to have an R1 I guess... yawn yawn... bit dull in the looks department.
I am quite happy with my noisy little monster as I am sadly no speed freak and I like carbed bikes.
Also no watercooled faffery!
Good that you saw its potential and rescued it :)

nice, so you went for the standard colors in the end..re the screws, use a blowtorch and get yourself one of this (http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/cht526-12pce-drill-screw-extractor-s), drill a hole with the drill bit, put the extractor bit on a electric screwdriver on a low torque, and whet the extractor bites, increase the torque a bit at the time, it should come out.

oh the old stud extractor.. lol.. these are well and truly welded in .. i promise, over all the years i worked on cars and bieks i have never seen a bolt as welded in as this lol.. i dont wanna risk it. but i was looking online and i can get a set of vipers for the biek for 220......... what ya reckon?

I run stainless vipers on my other bike little stubbies and they sound really nice and still look good after 3 years outside!
I would give Vipers a thumbs up :) not expensive but a nice can for the money.

You don't need to take the sleeves off to core the cans, (unless you want to shorten them too).
