Im getting the oil warning light comming on after a hard ride.....only intermitently which goes out when the bike is revved....then comes back on again....flickering....the bike is full of oil did an oil change 2 days ago....filled it with castrol 4T race.........when running the bike it goes out but at traffic lights its back on.....the bike runs ok....not hot neither.....is this a common problem with the 916 engine??? any sugestions??

first thing to do is check to make sure the oil pressure switch has a good connection. then try a new switch (im told one from a corsa fits and works fine) to be honest if you have the oil in there and its only doing it on idle its unlikely to be an oil pump as they tend to work or not work....

You can check the oil pressure by inserting a gauge where the sensor fits.

Just swap the switch. They don't last very well and are cheap to replace. Mine started to flicker at low revs like that, just before it failed & pissed oil everywhere on way back from Arrow mill in 2008.

Pull the connector plug out of the top of the oil switch, if you can see oil in the switch or on the plug, it has failed.

hi this is the one you need. I changed mine 2 weeks ago. exactly the same fit (without the need for the small aluminium washer)

I didn't buy this one from ebay as I was a bit impatient and bought the same one from a Vaxhall dealer for £6.49

got one for £5. drb patent parts, fitted it sorted........if only someone would make all ducati patent parts it might make them put their prices down......81.50 plus vat for 2 timing belts nearly broke my heart...thanks again
