Carb diaphragm/sliders working???

Anyone know if there's any way I can test that the carb diaphragm/sliders lift in response to a vacuum BEFORE I reinstall them on the bike?

Something I can suck on (keep it clean!!!)

I've never tried this myself but... gaffa tape it to a vacuum cleaner hose and start on max suction. Flow should make it rise in a damped fashion.
No warranty or guarantee implied by the way.
You could also try attaching the carb to it as well.......

Top tip!

Will be the first time I've had a vacuum cleaner in my hand for a while! Better wait til the missus is out.
