Made a decision to buy a full arrow race system for the S2R, and through researching the threads, it appears an ecu is a must for the system to run properly and the fueling to be correct.

Question is does it have to be a DP ecu which are expensive for what they are. I havnt seen any myself, but do arrow make an ecu ??

Anybody run termi's or arrows or any other pipe system on an ecu other than the dp ?

Regards

Kev

Hi, I ran a full Arrow system on my S2r1000 without the DP ecu. It ran great but you must have the TPS set at your dealer or specialist.

Cheers yorkie, god that was a lot of reading, and they still didnt really get to the bottom of it !!

Jim thats interesting how yours ran great.

Iv read all sorts of nasties in relation to the fitting of full systems but the bikes just havnt run properly for some people, mainly due to the lambda sensor issues. The DP ecu appeared to solve the problem for many.

Was yours a full system ? if so 'road' or 'for race use only' ? I take it you removed the cat ?

TPS.....throttle positioning system ?

Why does this need looking at when fitting a system ?

Hi, Yes it was the 'Not for road use' full system. There's a socket for the lambda sensor in the system. I'm not exactly sure what TPS stands for, But when I had it set it involved attaching pipes to the small sockets in both front and rear pipes that connected to some sort of analyser while adjustments were made at the throttle boddies, I'm not sure if the mathasis (guessing at the spelling) diagnostic gadget was still attached at this point too.

Anyway, I had the system fitted and setting up done at V-duo motorcycles in Lincoln. You can feel the difference in the bike straight away, Feels like more bottom end power and rev's so much more quickly.

TPS= throttle position sensor. It needs re-calibrating occasionally as it sends vital info to ecu.

Ok, I have been down this road myself & he is the low down on it.

If your bike has not got a lamba sensor fitted then you can get away with a tweek of the mixture setting or at most you will have to have a PC111 USB fitted & mapped.

If your bike has a lamba sensor fitted, it will run very weak once you fit a full exhaust system (it's the removal of the cat that causes all the problems) the best way to overcome the problem is to remove the lamba sensor & fit a DP ecu.
The TPS & the mixture will then need to be set by the dealers.
