when i sent my wheels for powder coating. i stripped them right down bearings out etc... but i couldnt get the spacers that the sprocket drive slips into.. there are six of them.. whats the chances of them surviving the 200 degree C baking........?

Had mine knocked out from the inside, all survived well so going back in again shortly. They certainly won't be much use after cooking...?

If you're lucky they'll have fallen out. They can be evil to get out, make a puller and keep cranking!! There's a strand with a DIY puller somewhere

yeah like i said .. i couldnt get them to budge.. there is always a tiny chance they might survive.. but i know its unlikely.. maybe withthe rubber melted it might be easy to get just the metal rim out... i guessed they would be about 60 quid... bugger!!!!!!!!!!!

The guy who took mine out said they would be destroyed in the oven so best idea was to take them out now. If they are ruined in the process, nothing lost. If they survive (like mine) you're laughing.

Get a drift in the hub and hammer the buggery out of them from behind. If you can add some penetrating oil for a bit and maybe heat the wheel as well even better.

ok so an update fro this then. the powder coating company ran the wheel through the oven as a test to maek sure it wouldnt run melted rubber everywhere.. and nothing happened.. not affected.. so wheels back on and tested.. seems the cush drives can pass through the baking process!!!!! :) (i got some new ones anyway.. just in case but havent fitted them yet!)

Had the same problem with the cush drives on mine, could'nt get them out, no matter what I tried, so when I gave the wheels to the powder coaters I asked them to see if they would fall out and if they did'nt to examine the rubbers for damage. Not a mark! They came out in the same condition they went into the oven.:)
