Battery question

How long roughly would an Optimate 3 need to fully recharge a low battery? 24 hours?
I have no instructions for the Optimate, do you just keep it charging until the yellow (charging normally)lamp goes out?. Had it for years but never needed to use it until now.

The lights will tell you when it is done.. From memory, my one takes 6-12 hours for a very low battery... In theory you should be able to leave it on for ever and it should go to 'standby' mode....

I think the optimate only puts out about half an amp, so if you double the number of Amp Hours that your battery has that'll be about how long it takes to charge !

Eg 12 AH battery takes about 24 hours.

Cheers for the tips guys , charges at 0.6 amp so it'll take a bit longer than I was hoping.

The amber light goes green when it's charged, or red if it detects a fault.
