In the middle of fitting my clip on bars (cheers sburrows87)

is there any way round not fitting after market clutch and brake fluid reservoirs??? i cant see them fitting as the pipes coming from them foul on the top yokes of the forks and the instrument cluster.

I doubt if you got the coffin style ones.see post here (http://www.ukmonster.co.uk/monster/showthread.php?p=340656#poststop). Apart from Ducati items Aprilia RSV Mille/Tuono should also fit your bike

I've just fitted Clip-ons to my M900, I was lucky that I already had an R1 cylinder fitted on the brake side, but my monster clutch cylinder wouldn't fit. So I bought one on evil bay for £25 from a Ducati ss600 that had a remote resovoir and this fitted perfectly. I will post some pictures later when I get home if that would help.

kool, if you could upload a couple of pics that would be good!!!

just had a drive out in the car :S to the ducati dealer, and saw the 898, the resivoirs look like they might fit on the monster but not sure about the pipe work underneath.

I put tomaselli clip ons on my 900 - pic attached if it helps.

cheers giler, mine are above the top yoke. Trying to work out whats best to use instead of the standard ducati clutch and brake resivors.

I am going to have to do the same with mine as the coffins are too big. But I am tempted to upgrade the whole brake setup, not just change the reservoirs. But alas, as always, money is the stumbling block!

Hey mate, I'm glad they arrived ok and I hope you get the M/C's sorted soon, I've had good luck on eBay germany and italy when looking for parts before so give them a try!

As a side note Oily, you may be be able to get away with fitting extra long 300mm tubes, which may move the M/C's away from the clamp just enough, here:

Personally I'd be very nervous about trusting my life to a Thai clone of a Brembo racing part (at 1/4 the price).
I'd rather have a 2nd hand Brembo part off another model, like the ones in Gilers photo.

If you're prepared to wait, things like http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ducati-748-916-996-Brembo-Front-brake-master-cylinder_W0QQitemZ370289817889QQcmdZViewItemQQptZU K_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item5636fe3921 come up regularly for about 1/2 what this guy's asking.

oohh yeah i wound'nt touch anything for the land of Thai on ebay!!!!! just a referance thats all :)

ahhh that one in the link Slob looks like it will do the job! will the standard lever fit or is that an aftermarket jobby as well??

You can get the coffin masters to fit, just persevere.
You may need to juggle some of the other parts around to give you a bit of adjusting space.
I lowered my clocks and headlight too,and a double banjo bolt on the bars wont work either so you may need new lines

cheers Dave_G but mine are fitted above the top yoke. and the design of the clip ons causes the clamping part to foul on the coffins on either side.

just to show, i this is why i cant use the Coffins.
the clamping part of the clip ons, fouls the coffins either side.

also the anlge of the pipe work either side looks to be a little bit of a bugger to sort out due to the angle of the unions.

the master cyliders that people use, do they use the original pipe work or do you have to use aftermarket stuff??????

I seem to recall someone using a spacer to solve that very issue, though I've no idea where I saw it now.
Maybe someone else on here might remember.

It is possible...

Dave_G how did you secure your choke lever assemble?? i got my spacers today :)
the spacers when fitted dont allow the choke assemble to be secured (with the 2 screws) to it mounting point on the clutch lever assemble.
i was thing is using to ver small self taping screws and sercure it to the switch assmble on its left hand side???

I afraid I cant help there as my bike doesn't have a choke lever.
Perhaps someone can suggest a fix for you.
