I have joined the forum to gain some more knowledge (and friends of course,) of this brand of bike. I'm looking for a Monster after having a go on an S2R last weekend and really enjoying it.
Any comments of preferred models etc are appreciated, but at the moment I am swaying towards an S4R 996 model from 2004.

I look forward to meeting some of you at the Wootten Bassett run and any days after that as well.

Welcome to the club. Nice choice of bikes you're looking at.
The S2R 800 if very popular and a really nice bike. The S4R's add the plumbing and power, if you look in the For Sale section I'm sure Phil996 is selling his still and that's a lovely blue one.
Plenty of advice from the owners here if and when you want it.

Hi rally

and welcome to the club.

I know its not Wilts but us Hampshire lot are quite busy and you're more than welcome to join us. We take anyone, people from Calne, Bath, even Salisbury.

We usually go for a breakfast once a month, had one today, good to see you all. And there's plenty of other stuff we've got planned.

So keep your eye out and come along, will be good to see a new face.

Good luck with the bike hunt.

Cheers
Stuart

Hi Rally
Welcome to the Ducati world. You're on your way to the best part of your life with a Monster. I want to echo Stuart 42 and UKSurfer's welcome to come along to the Hants meet as the more you can get out on your bike, the broader your smile will be.

Hope to see you tearing up the roads soon.

Cheers
Gutsy

Thanks for all you replies and welcome messages. I had heard that the Hants group was more active and the one to watch! Thats a good job as it means a longer ride to get some where when a meet is going on.
We have a great pub meet 5 miles from home at the Red Lion in Avebury every Wednesday, but I rarely go as it is too close! I go to Poole on a Tuesday instead, 65 miles of pure tarmac heaven.

So is it recommended to have the hoses and water jacket ones or stay letting natures air keep it cool? I do like the sound of the extra power though!

Well folks, as you can see from the change of profile picture, I bit the bullet and have got an S4R from a fellow member (phil996). Thanks Phil, can't wait for collection and will be in touch asap.

As to Red being quicker Neil, we will just have to see on that one............................
