Think ours is plastic too, cant check as AK's away on a course til tomorrow night & his phone is now off.
Actually - pretty sure the S4RS tanks were all plastic if I recall correctly
The S4R was a mix of plastic & metal ones, tho would need to confirm.

ok thanks my boss has knocked over my chromo and i need a metal tank so i can have it re-chromed

Unless you had a dummy run on the worst dented tank IYSWIM...

Can't be much better news really.... surely they did not just make metal tanks for s4's of that model.

FFS... for once I am lost for words ... and have not or do not even feel like giving a stupid smart arsed answer..... sniff..

Big recall of plastic tanks in USA due to espansion and danger of explosion caused by Gasohol , Ducati are replacing with Steel tanks under warranty and USA is likely to sue Ducati over plastic tank problems and may force a recall which could bankrupt Ducati.Check the USA Forums .

Jerry - that is mostly down to the fuel - its VERY different to the fuel we use in the UK.

Having used plastic tanks on the race bikes for quite a time, we can HONESTLY say that we have never had a problem - and I havent heard of one case in the UK either.

'small dent near gas cap' Rob, Since Paul has a cromo, I suspect he needs it absolutely mint so it can be plated.
