Battery's dead & not even a whimper !

Tried the bikes (Monster S4R and my Triumph Sprint) at the weekend and obviously both were dead after 5 weeks standing in the garden. I have a portable battery charger pack and jump started the Monster no problem, though it'll need a run to get it to hold the charge, but the Triumph didn't even give me a whimper of a turnover, even with the battery pack connected I got nothing, like the starter motor wasn't working ? But it was fine 5 weeks ago. Even the lights and indicators worked fine.

Any thoughts ?

Not even clicking from the solenoid?
Start by checking the fuses.

Not a sound, made me think I'd been pressing the wrong button or the kill switch was on but no, just nothing. When I switch it on the dash lights come on, the needles do their sweep etc but nothing else.

JP, i have some armoured cable at work, how long would you need ? i will need to check how much i have on reel. would be good to use to get power to charger ???

Give the battery a full recharge then try it.

Got my builder (Dad) coming round at the end of Jan to give me an estimate for wiring it in all professionally.

Been lobbed into the corner of the garage since the 2nd weekend in Sept (dont ask for reasons!) - AK went to start it on Sat thinking it wouldnt crank at all - and bingo - brmmmm off she went as if she had been going only an hour ago!
Its an early may 08 one, and doesnt get a chance to ever go on the optimate, as all the other bikes take it over!
