Just a quick Question, Is the 'normal' looking DP tea tray any shorter than the original plastic one?

Pic here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Performance-carbon-tail-piece-cowl-Ducati-Monster-NEW_W0QQitemZ160391798167QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_Def aultDomain_146?hash=item2558189d97

Cheers!

pretty sure it says same size in the catalogue, they do a short carbon one as well, it's quite narrow and you can see the frame either side.

100 euros is a bit on the rude side. They certainly never used to be £200 from Ducati - under £100 as I remember when I sold them, but you would be better off going for the shorty kit (which also comes with an alloy number plate holder). See attached pic of ,my S4r one. One thing to remember - if you go with the smaller one its easier to graft one some nice (and smaller) billet indicators.

cheers nattyboy, I rang up Craig @ Motorapido today for a price on a duc one, came in at over £300 (!!!!) and even he was suprised but he did say ducati may have swapped supplies and have been slowly hiking up the price of carbon recently. Anyway moneys a bit tight at the mo, so I am going to hold out and maybe get one for my bday in april, in the mean time I have ordered the alloy plate relocator (tail tidy basically) to tidy up the rear end and get shot of the mudguard thing. Thanks for all your help and advice anyway and before anyone says it I'm not chopping the tail lol I think it looks a bit too unfinished in my view plus my high level termis would make the bike look like a wheelbarrow! But no offense obviously to anyone that has done it, just my own personal opinion! :D

oh yeah sorry nattyboy to save confusion, it was the short tail that came in at £300+, the standard tea tray but in carbon came in at £160 :)

Hmmm..shop around for both of those prices. They both seem a bit steep. Keep your eyes open for pattern parts - they are about - particularly with the shorty kit.

The part numbers you are looking for are

Normal;96922100B
Shorty kit; 96949002B

Sometimes ducati supercede a part number and replace it with somethinmg else - and it has been known for the price to go up a fair bit.
