My Bro's and I picked up our bikes yesterday, so here's a few pics of how they are looking.

My bro's it a 600 fitted with sil-moto CF exhausts and a nice cf tail (for those people who like tea-trays)

My bike's still not finished......., is a 750 special, fitted with custom exhausts from NRP. I'm thinking about fitting a ktm duke headlights

Both bikes look real nice. Glad the project going well.

Question ??? Why do people put termignoni stickers on nice sils. Are they inferior. The sils stickers look good and great cans. Better made than Termis and I run termis on mine.

I had no idea you have 'finished' it. You no doubt solved many problems along the way. Good work.

the 750 is sick, similar to my old S2R, how about getting off the plastic side panels to reveal more of the frame. I presume you've dropped the headlight and clocks?? if not can those cloacks get dropped a bit lower, then those lines will be superb. I took my belt covers off as well, I no its dangerous but it looked amazing. Its a lovely bike you have, the grey and red go so well together. nice work

Thanks for all the kind words.....I'm finally sober enough after NY to post another message on here.

I know what you mean about termignoni stickers Albie, I guess some people think termignoni has more Qdos. The Sil Cans do seems very well made, I like it that the are shorter than termignoni too, so I will be able to tail chop my brothers bike. (his cf tail will be up for sale in due course)

Helcat, the clip-ons definitely helps to give the bike a cafe-racer look, they also feel more comfortable that my old flat bars give me more steering lock too. As you can see the are currently above the yoke but I plan to fit them under.

Jimmy, the headlight and clocks have not yet! been dropped, I'm going to looking in fitting KTM headlight first, but I'm not sure if I will start to loose the iconic monster styling.

Thats a good point about the belt covers and cf side panels too, I will take them off and see how it looks. I really like the look of the speedy moto belt covers but they are a bit expensive, I could also get them in silver and red but might again be OTT.

Anyway remaining plans to mod my bike are on hold for 4 weeks, I'm off to do a 'top gear' I going to buy a minsk in Vietnam and ride from Hanoi to Sigon.

Nice bikes dude. The clip ones work really well and have now got me thinking that I do the same with my 600. Personally I'd leave the headlight alone. People may disagree with me on this one but I think that's what makes the monster the monster - A BIG ROUND HEADLIGHT. I've seen people put 2 small lights on the front but for me the only bike that can get away with it is the Street/Speed Triple. I have also see other fairing style headlights put on them and again not for me.
To be honest it's the headlight design on the new Monsters that turns me off them slightly - If it ain't broke, don't fix it! :D

I have to say I love twin spots... and the big uns..

However I really really love the big headlight on the Monster..
Its part of its charm I agree..
The new headlight design doesn't float my boat sorry ..

My Kat has the rectangular headlight which isn't pretty .. however throws out a superb beam!! I was stunned out how good it was.

My twin dominators on the other bike are halogens but rather then side by side are stacked and the beam is not as good as the monny even with two halogens!

My monster had twin chrome lamps, but to me it just didn't look right.

Fortunately, the original headlight was included so it's now back as Ducati intended, with the lamps available for sale to those who like the two eyed look..

I really like the look without the cf side panels but, It's going to be an effort to relocating the 'ht coil' and epically removing it's brackets from the frame.

I've also took a few pics with the KTM headlight resting in place so I can decide if its a keep...........It's just going to take me a few hrs of photo editing to make it the same color as the bike.

How much do you want for the yellow wheel in the background? It's just that I know someone with a Harley:chuckle:

hahaha, thats my Dad's. It's an extra parts of one of his mad inventions :) he's currently designing a waterwheel and using a tractor gearbox to gearup to the generator.............

I've not got time to edit all the photo's (going to Sweden tomorrow :)) But this is what the KTM light looks like. I'm still undecided if it's a keeped.

I had the speedymoto belt covers and to be honest, waste of money! bike looked better with no covers. Also on the S2R the soft rubber belt surround which the covers screwed into meant that the front speedy belt cover was loose!! something they didn;t tell me when I mentioned it and they were already aware of the defect!! on other monsters the housing is not rubber and its not an issue

I see you took of the panels like I said, in my pesonal opinion what your heading towards is a stripped down monster, like mine was. I love these monnies, less is more. When you start adding stuff like the KTM light I think you start confusing the end goal. Mine was always to take as much off as I could, not to save weight but to get back to the basics. One of the better additions I saw was a replacememnt of the insturment clocks with a single unit (chrome or black) that did everything in one. My opionin keep stripping the bike back, keep thinking about ways to relocate stuff to unclutter the bike.

god I miss my monster :-(

littlejimmy, I only just read your last comment.

Not sure if the HT coil is in the same position on yous, did you grind of the brackets that holds it on to frame Or just re-route the HT Coil. See Below.

I 100% agree less is more on a monster, but my inspiration behind the KTM lights, saw this pictures when I first join the forum.

http://www.simonvicki.co.uk/wheels_pages/_s4r_pages/stage_8_images/s4r08_01.jpg

After a bit of searching I've found out it's Simon's aka 'Marchesini' bike. What a thing of beauty!!!

After wanting to find more pictures of Simons bike, I recently stumbled across his Website. I hope you don't might me linking it here. You can really see how much effort he has gone to, with no expense spared!

CLICK CLICK (http://http://www.simonvicki.co.uk/wheels_pages/_s4r_pages/S4r_stage_8.html)

And here are some older pics of his bike with the KTM headlight :) or :( ??

I might look into sliming down the side profile of the KTM light if fitted but I'm still not sure if I'm going to fit it at all.
Today I went to a few local spray shops today and the are quoting me £120-140 to get it resprayed....(I've no idea how reasonable this is, sounds expensive?) So should I also get a belly pan and get that painted up at the same time and save a few $$$?

Well I'm of To Libya tomorrow night, So it will give me 5 weeks to think things over. (and save my money :) )

Cheers for reading

I think the lines on the KTM headlight really compliments the tank. As well as being unique (apart from copying simon :P)

Looks like Sil's to me.. BTW, I don't mind the headlight, but you may have to trim it down a bit..

Hi Panther,

As a question, what make of exhaust is that you have on your Monster?

Fugly

The exhausts on the yellow one are Sil Moto exhausts,

The grey one are custom exhausts made by nrpexhausts

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Pomp I think the headlight needs to be trimmed down too, from the side I think it looks a bit big. I would not know the best way to do this with out me messing it up. Also then the headlight is flush with the forks it's a really close fit rounds the clocks ready. So the plan is to paint part of the sides black to made it look slimmer.

After seeing Neil bike post (lovley bike mate) + knowing I'm about to be away from my bike for 5 weeks, and also feeling very low due to having flu for the last 6 days.
Here is another self-indulged post / update :) No real changes to the bike, just fitted a new bracket to hold the old headlight. The seat cowl had been removed, but that's because it's at the paint for them to use as a colour match.

Cheers for the mad props Panther!

But you talk about being away from your bike for 5 weeks................ I havent ridden mine since last September, and due to my being in the Falklands over last summer, only got out on mine twice last year (probs about 300 miles tops - and one of the 2 trips was to get an MOT and service)

Ive almost certainly forgotten how to ride now!

Bike looks good though, love the single swinging look! But if you really want to change the headlights, try this sort of setup.............

Thanks for that.. I have two sets of side panels here (one carbon) .. 3 including what's on my bike...I quite like the no side panel look!! grrrrr...

But I will have a set painted up anyway and see if I like them.

Sorry to say but I like your bike with the nice round headlight..
It looks right with the clip on's stylish!

I eventually may put clip on's on mine as I find them comfy to be honest.

Its a nice classic looking bike .. I really like it .. I like the exhausts system as well, tucked under.
Lurvley bike .. but I am not keen on the Katie headlight sorry.. not on a monnie , but each to their own and its what makes you happy at the end of the day.

Your bike looks really low .. or your very tall!
Mine was parked by another M600 the other day , I didn't think mine was that low but it looked like a toy next to another M600 my bikes so low to the ground its pretty funny.

Over the last 4 year of owning that bike I think over 75% of this time it's been off the road. And that MOT was my first ride since last June lol
At one point I was going to make a pair of projector headlight light that neil, but was struggling to make some decent casing. Or buy something like this. when ever I see projector I really like the look of angle eye's round them too. (sorry about the stupidly big pic)

LJ, the combination of having clip-ons with built in risers, fitting them about the yoke and having very long arms make for a more up ride riding position (you don't actually realise until some take a photo, but its easy on the wrists and you can still get done low if you want to.

HC, next to my bro's 600 my rear looks high, but he his bike was previously ridden by a short arse with lowed setup. Well when I'm back from the Desert (joys of work) I will come on a UKMOC ride out, and compare rears :P

Panther, that light looks perfect, it even has a clamp that could mount on the trellis frame. I wanted to do something similar once apon a time, and the only thing i wasnt sure on, is where to put the indicators....... under the lights, or have them built into the mirrors........
