UKsurfer - have you made an early new year's resolution that Hampshire will be more organised and have more get-togethers than the Kenties in 2010?

Not sure yet whether we'll be able to make it on 24th - the annual in-laws get together is normally a Sunday end of January/early February so have a horrible feeling it could be then. Might be amusing to turn up to that on the Monster :-)

count me in, weather wise, sun only,
no rain, snow, thunder, hale.

that would be great if you could Stuart, you can lead, and we'll follow, and if anyone gets stopped for speeding, its your fault!!

Stuart42

Me?
Always within the speed limits, maybe on the wrong side of the road but always within the speed limits.

My thinking is that, being on a Manx plate, national speed limit is whatever you want.

Andy & I should be up for it (weather permitting).

We're both fed up with the ice and slush preventing us getting the bikes out at the moment. Andy's usually up for bacon butties.

He got me a bottle of FS365 for Christmas so will clart Monster liberally with it before making it brave the great outdoors, in the hope that I don't have to spend as long lying on the garage floor scraping crud off the underside of the engine after the next ride out.

We're all fed up with the ice and slush and not getting out on the bikes! It's gonna be weeks after the 'thaw' for the roads to get clean, and the potholes??? Don't get me started! Come in the car otherwise, just for the get-together!!

Well Stuart, I do recall, but funnily enough, won't have either of those (especially the black pudding!). And cos I never cook a roast any more, don't have any leftover greens and potato for bubble & squeak (always used to be a Monday favourite with cold meat and pickles too! Mmmm!).

All being well, I'll be leaving Shell garage, just off A303 about 945 if anyone wants to meet me there to ride to St. Ockbridge?
Cheers

Looks like the roads are drying nicely, so have coated the bike in FS 365, fitted the rear pillion pegs and dusted my kit off.
My lovely wife Jill is coming with me tomorrow, so we will see you all at Liz's around 11:30, ride safe all.

See you tomorrow.

Went out for a spin today - roads nice and dry. Just had to watch out for the potholes and idiots slamming their brakes on in front of me - glad the S2R's got good brakes!

Look forward to seeing you all tomorrow! BTW, the menu is bacon rolls or toast and tea and coffee!!

Looking forward to it.

Andy & I will head straight for Calne, rather than detouring via Stockbridge first.

Andy spent the afternoon in the garage fitting heated grips to the Fazer, so he will no doubt arrive toasty warm and smug, while I will need the cup of tea to hold to defrost my fingers.

You will be relieved to hear I got home without dropping the bike for the 3rd time in one day.

Hope everyone else got back ok. Not sure where you all went between leaving Calne and arriving in Hungerford - apologies if anyone wanted to follow us to find the way! I assume you all stopped for fuel in Hungerford - as that garage was the scene of my second outbreak of klutzishness today, I didn't want to stop there again myself!)

Thanks again to Liz for feeding us and Stafford for sous-cheffing: maybe they should start making UKMOC aprons! Andy says thanks for the bacon butties.

Thanks also to Chris for tinkering with my suspension to lower the ride height.

When we got home, I let Andy take the Monster round the block and he said he was not surprised I had trouble stopping and pulling away at junctions as my back brake was entirely cosmetic. (I had warned him about the back brake - I don't think he quite believed me!) His verdict - he prefers riding his bike, but looking at mine!

Thanks to Martin, Chris and Adam for allowing me to join them for the ride to Calne. It was really good to ride through new countryside for me. Liz a very big thank you for opening your doors to us all - you're a brave one accommodating us all! Glad I'm not the only ditzy girl to drop my bike but let's hope that's all done now for the year ahead.

Now I need some Termis to become a proper Monster!!

Cheers

Hey guys,
Great to see you all today and a good turnout for January!
Mrs C, you didn't have to worry about dropping your bike for the 3rd time, cos I dropped mine instead (at the end of my own road - how embarrassing is that!).
Thanks to Adam who was unfortunate enough to be behind me and had to help me pick the bike up!!! One broken front brake lever and one idiot!!!! Carried on with the ride anyway up the A34 roundabout and back, only to find Chris and Alison picking up bits of Adam's bike?!!!
What are we doing in Feb?????!!!!!!!!!!!
And whoever left the 'tip' under the plates, there was no need, I offered to host! But, it will now go towards a new brake lever

Hey Albie,
It wasn't quite the 'catering industry', it was our UKMOC Hant/Wilts/Somerset meet for Jan. A get-together for a bit of brekkie and a chat!! LOL!
