Well it's taken a little longer than I expected with a few of the usual twists and turns along the way. All I wanted to do was fit some new calipers and an Ohlins, both are bolt on parts so it should be a piece of pi**. Well nearly, the calipers were easy, just clean and bolt on, of course you do need new hoses. OK so on the phone to HEL have a chat with Shaun who does me a very good price so I order a complete set of hoses in black with black fittings. A couple of days later a trip to the post office and home with the hoses. A bit of a faff as the relationship of the ends is not quite right but we get there in the end bled and done.

In the mean time a little addition for the rear courtesy of the bay appears at work. An ex S4RS Ohlins with 750 miles of use, uber bling. Size wise this unit is a straight swap for the original unit. In reality the dual coil for the rear cylinder sits right where the reservoir is mounted on the Ohlins. So out with the grinder and remove the bracket, yep the shock fits for sure but the coil now needs a new home. The solution here is something that Ducati could have done in the first place, by using part of the original bracket it will fit quite nicely behind the side panel and still leave room for Scottoiler. So out with the welder pop on the bits and several coats of primer and black later jobs a good'un. Unfortunately the rear brake and clutch hoses supplied we're all wrong but again Shaun was a star and I sent down the originals for them to copy. That should have been easy but no, the clutch line still has the wrong fittings. 3rd times a charm and a free 888 rear brake line for my troubles overnight. The boys at HEL might make the odd mistake but they do sort things out bloody quick if they do, cheers lads.

As you can see a little extra carbon bling came home from the Belgium trip for the chain guards and the new rear sprocket carrier and chain went on a couple of months ago along with the Ohlins steering damper.
Right I've finished my spring project early this year, so no more chilly nights in the garage for me. If the council could refrain from lobbing salt all over the roads I'll be able to set up the rear suspension.
