Well the time has come to get the cheque books and book yourself a room subject to availability as first come first served. 18 rooms with places for 40 people. I know it will get full but there is a Travelodge a mile away that can also be used and works out cheaper TBH. This would be ideal for those not wanting 3 nights. Meals can still be had at Mill.

Im sure we can get a 8 seater taxi to and fro if needed so please dont be put off as the club would like all to come.

Please read the forms carefully and dont use the thread post as a booking form

Albie - could have sworn your first post said something about payment through UKMOC Nationwide bank account and to PM Benson (which I did).

Was I hallucinating or did you edit the post? Benson will no doubt be very confused to have heard from me!

Albie
04-12-2009, 05:28 PM
It did but I decided its no good her saying that without her giving details it will cause confusion and wished I had never posted it.:o

MrsC_772
04-12-2009, 05:30 PM
So does that mean that I'll need to send you a cheque after all?

I only ask because I have a Nationwide account and it would no doubt be quicker (and therefore more likely to be effective bagging me a couple of places) for me to do an electronic transfer if UKMOC has a Nationwide account, than to snail-mail a cheque to your home address.

Albie
04-12-2009, 05:51 PM
If you can get in touch with ms Benson she may be able to help. Like I said I have no info other than what she wrote about it on the restricted area.I wish now I had never included the words but I still need the form back with details either way and as I stated just now this may cause havoc and confusion so thats why I nipped it in the bud .

DON'T PANIC :woot:

I think the forms are the most important bit to consider then if people don't pay up we just let their rooms go - so I would either

1. Get the forms to Albie along with the cheque payable to UKMOC

or

2. Get the form to Albie and PM me for payment details directly into the UKMOC account.

Seems straightforward enough to me!

Just worked out what you meant by this Logyk! That's not what it means...

What this one?

Who can go?
Any UKMOC member who has a Monster - and their partners, who may or may not have a bike. (partners bike doesn’t have to be a Monster!)

SazzaG
06-12-2009, 06:48 PM
Yep. If that's the case, then I can't go!

JMo
06-12-2009, 06:51 PM
I think that is a hang-over from years ago when the 'rules' were first drawn up, and the form just gets copied each year...

Certainly long-standing members have been at liberty to turn up on other bikes in the past, and I'm sure they are welcome this time too... you just have to park in the naughty corner as Saz says...

xxx

ps. other 'things' I have noticed:

1. The rooms don't have tea & coffee facilities anymore, you have to order downstairs at the bar...

2. This year, the National Rideout seems to be shown as Saturday for some reason? Surely the 'National Rideout' is the one large group ride, done on the Sunday so the day visitors can join in too?

3. Albie has crossed out his email address and left Didge's in place?!

4. Has a 'gala dinner' been decided for the Saturday, or are we going to do a Hog Roast for Sunday lunch instead, so that everyone (inc. day visitors) can attend? - don't know who suggested that, but I thought it was a bloody good idea... x

5. There is no happy hour at the bar anymore (well, there wasn't last year anyway...)

6. Ok, I'll stop being picky...

Julie

Hey Guys.
Really interested in going to this. I didn't go last year (main reason - didn't know about this and didn't have a Monster then!) but want to do it.
Anyways, just looking at my schedule that's going to fall at the start of my end of year exams (it's an engineering degree so it is kinda important if I want to be designing the Dukes of the future! ;) ) So anyways I was thinking of heading up for maybe just the Saturday night or maybe the Friday as well and booking into the Travelodge.
What goes on at this sort of event? I think that it could be awesome fun.

SazzaG

Drinking, eating, ermm, drinking (did I mention that?). Oh, and the occasional bit of riding. And drinking.

Hopefully we will have a full weekend programme of events confirmed in the next few days...

We certainly intend to make the Sunday (National Rideout day) extra special this year, with activities centered around the Mill itself - giving plenty of opportunity for day-visitors to join in as well as the residents and travel-lodgers...

Let's make 2010 the biggest and best Monster Weekender ever!!!

There's normally a list of room allocations by now Albie, at least people then know if they are in or not.

Stafford - Sorting the rooms out at arrow mill is one of the hardest jobs - all done for free each year by different UKMOC members. Each person will do it differently and Albie will have it all undercontrol as he has proved with the Calanders. There is no 'normal' way of getting everyone sorted with the rooms, But please cut Albie some slack. Trust me it is not an easy job sorting the rooms - and Albie has the added stress of sorting the Belgiums out as well.

He will post up a Complete list once he has it.

Glad you are happy todo it next year

I have a list of what should be the room allocation based on who came first with cheques got the singles. Its very awkward when the hotel doesn't have many single rooms but you can hardly blame them. Anyhow I must thank those who said they will muck in together and if I can get singles in then great. There is one double room vacant and unsure whether anyone still snding me stuff as not had any today.

Hope its ok if you had to share.

I might take a few spares, for a small fee of £20 per ear plug you too can have a restful night...

I'd rather spend the £20 on Jack Daniels - has the same effect

Albie,
As I have only just joined the group and collect my 1st Monster today, this is all new to me. Are there any spaces left anymore?

It sounds like my sort of thing and something I would love to join in with.

I have now downloaded the form and can see more. What it doesn't mention is if I stay at the Travelodge (Rooms left at the moment) can I join everyone else for the evening meals and breakfast, and if so, at what cost please? I see the cost for camping and meals but didn't know if it would be the same or not?

Cheers and well done on the organising so far.

This is the travellodge, about 1 mile away. Albie can confirm whether the Mill itself has rooms left.

At the risk of being shot down in flames, I think the camping cost is nominal, most of the price is for the meals.

Yes one room left only and will be nice to fill it up. Meals can be taken at the mill if at the travel lodge with us. Im not sure whether you can do a deal on brekkie and evening meal or they are a set charge but either way they are good value .

I'll be posting up the [non resident] meal prices a little closer to the time...

Off the top of my head, Breakfast (full English and the assorted extras) each morning is £8.50 per head, and Dinner on Friday evening will be £15.00

The Saturday night with feature a three course a la carte, with our own menu at (oh hang on, I'm going to have to check my notes after all)... ah, £22.50 per head... still very good value as their menu is top notch!

And on Sunday, we will be having the Hog roast at approximately 2.30pm onwards, which is a kind of all you can eat buffet (within reason) for £15.00 again - bargain!

Sunday evening will be a bar snack menu (for those who are still hungry), which will be paid for individually...

To recap, Hotel and Camping residents get Sat-Sun-Mon breakfast, plus Fri-Sat dinner and the Sunday hog roast included - Sunday evening is down to you as required.

Jen xx

Mmmm, food. We'll be putting our names down for a couple of those.

And for those of you who haven't been before - believe me, there is no shortage of food! Proper brekkie!
