Well as WDW is now dated and getting underway I have re-issued the post and sent and recieved an email confirming the date which is Sunday 19th of September 2010. So I have emailed for accomadation as a group of 16+. I hope to hear back that we can have the annexe so although WDW is a major interest please also confirm your interest with this too. Its just names and if possible 100% commitment. Once again I will deal with bookings if you would like.

Heres the answer

Well I have recieved email back from Joris. Heres the score.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello Caroline and Albie,

I already placed on option (without any obligation) on all the 7 rooms in the separate building and on 1 room in the main building.

Please let me know if you need more rooms.

With kind regards,

Joris

Ps. I saw some nice pictures from Lous Canon on Flickr.com
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So if you want to come you need to put your name down on the list. Copy and paste please.
Once its full you will need to find accomodation somewhere else. Dont forget there are more rooms than this but these are ours reserved so be quick and 99% is good enough.

How many spaces are there for rooms/beds?

As we speak we have 8 rooms reserved so thats 2 per room so 16 people. We can have more rooms but we need to have figures of persons wishing to seriously go so I can book more. We have the barn annexe to ourselves so we can talk and drink in our own company and not annoy others. Some will have rooms in the main building 50yds away. If we get 20 people so we have 10 rooms. Im not holding this thread open for long as Im prebooking so I can relax between now and september and know its done.

I have emailed hotel and asked for more rooms. I have asked for 12 which is 24 peeps. I have also asked how many max we could have if we are quick.
I must state however if we cant get more rooms the first come first served basis applies but we will find you accomodation or aim to nearby. Dont see it as yet on the list because early birds catch the worms.

I am preliminary pairing you up too.If you want to change your partner let me know.

Stuart 42, Stafford, Rollo, UKSurfer, Chris Yeatman - I will expect an excellent convoy, cos there's no way I could go all that way on my own and, yes, I can ride with the best of you but unfortunately haven't got the power on my little M600!

Right you orrible lot I have got you the whole hotel so please try not to let me down on this. I have the option on all 15 rooms so there is space available for 3 more too join the long list and after that we are full but no doubt theree will be somewhere around locally.

If you want to come please book this time off as soon as possible as you can ,that way we can all join up and have a great weekend together.
If you know at anytime that you cant or dont want to come PLEASE tell me straight away and dont sit on it. I dont bite :mand:

By the look of it it seems to have a triple room . Now if thats the case I will use it for my better judgement say if 3 ladies want to share if not it will be available for gents.
I am having a deluxe room probs the same room as this year with the four poster as Im one night only.
Give me your choice but all rooms are superb its really on your budget tbh

And as if you hadn't noticed, the Euro/Sterling Exchange rate has improved a lot over the last week from E1.11 to E1.15 per pound in the currency markets because of the problems in Greece.

That's a whole KWAK per pound !!!

Hi guys. Over the weekend a lot of talks been going on about the MOB III trip to belgium. We need to get things going soon just to make sure we commit. It comes around real soon after the Arrow Mill and some have also got WDW to go to.

What Im trying to say is make sure if your coming you start saving if you need too. I for one know how ideas turn sour when you figure you cannot afford to go. Its probably cheaper than the Mill but I would be grateful to know how many we are booking for so as to inform Joris whether we need the whole place or not.

Let me tell you that if you liked Arrow Mill you will like Belgium too. The company is great. The setting is great. The accomodation is superb and the beer is well !!!, strong .:drunk:

This is the last list posted so please delete if its a no no or add your name if you want to join us.

Myself and Scrapp's will be doing another run of teeshirts or something so let us know if you want one. We always try to do something different to the last time but keeping on the same lines. I will get my head on designing something soon. Once again these will be done as cheaply as possible using good quality shirts and ladies fit too if you specify.

Thanks again guys. It just never stops this organising.

I think we discussed price earlier in the initial thread.I will check out the prices. If your shareing a room it works out cheaper. The drink is how muck you drink and how much you eat. Prices are better over there for beer for sure as you dont drink pints. But they are strong if you like strong. You can work your way through a list if you want like AlanC.

The eurotunnel is cheap enough and will check that out. 2 days cost me around £35 an I think 3days costs £50.
Ferry is marginally cheaper but 90minutes longer.

The accomodation is superb and better than Arrow Mill and includes breakfast.

Food out is also very good. During sunday you tend not to eat during the day apart from the odd hot dog and eat in evening.

Heres the rough itinery
Friday get to kent to stay overnight.
Get to tunnel at folkstone for around 08.30 Sat morning
Catch train around 9.00
Arrive in France at Calais to meet the Belgiums
Ride with them probably to Diksmuidde for lunch on the river. 10- 20 euros depending on your choice of palette
Ride to somewhere like the war trenches after lunch.Have a coffee or tea or drink.
from there ride to Buggenhout to our Hotel.

http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l209/albies4/Bike%20Pics/Albies%20Belgium%20UKMOC%20Pics%202008/BelgiumTourGuinnessRecordAttempt-25.jpg
Book in and shower and get ready for evening meal at local restaraunt approx 400m walk.

We will probably meet up with some belgium friends for dinner

Get up Sunday and shower and grab some breakfast.

Leave hotel around 10.00 for Moezeke market place with probs a belgian guide if they are not busy helping out. They are usually up working at 07.00 setting up the place.
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l209/albies4/UKMOC%20to%20MOB%20Belgium%202008/BelgiumTourGuinnessRecordAttempt-101.jpg
Spend all day there or perhaps some may want to have a rideout somewhere t.b.a. At around 4ish ride back for an ice cream at our favourite shop.

Go back to hotel for shower drink and banter. Thats when I go home and you lot can go out again for a meal and beers.

After the 11 day trip to Italy I have to agree with Rob. Only ever saw 95 or 98RON, and many rural garages only have 95 on sale. Be prepared to pay by credit/debit cards as a lot of garages are automated & un-manned late at night or weekends. The machines do take Euro notes but it's a PITA, as the cash & card readers don't always work properly.

J.P
22-06-2010, 01:27 PM
As an additional note, I'd also say that travelling on a Sunday or late at night you'd better have E10 or E5 euro notes. E20's are too much petrol and a waste and you can always fill most of a tank with E10 worth.

I found a date for Sunday 19th September but that's it.

I am looking to organise a room but ideally would like to know when people are arriving and leaving and where they are staying so I can be there around the same time (don't want ot be knobby no mates in a foreign land) and stay in the vacinity to stagger back after a beer or five.

So if someone can enlighten me with the details I can look for a room etc.

Following on from a converation at pub on Tuesday..

I agreed (with Albie) it would be sensible to collect deposits via cheque ASAP. This should ensure you don't get a lot of last minute cancellations, and end up upsetting the B&B owner. A figure of 50% of the total B&B rate for each room was suggested, non refundable on late cancellation - unless a replacement occupier can be found.

We don't normally bother doing this but pre-booking the entire hotel is a big commitment

Albie, can you specify deposit amount & set a date for cheques to be posted into you?

Thanks for the information.

Albie, I will drop you a PM regarding accommodation and payment. (Not trying to muscle in and happy to join the back of the queue just don't fancy sleeping under the monster! I'm too fat!)

Carbon? You're lucky that you've got a bike to put some on! Actually, I retract that statement! I have 2 bikes I could put some carbon on, but only one is reliable at the moment - no fancy electronics etc apart from electric start? Bring back simplicity...........

Hi guys. Im sorry not been on site much over the last few days. Other stuff kept me away.

The discussion is primarily not being let down at the last minute. Whilst Im not wanting to do this Its about getting a final list of whose really coming. I can see those intending to come by the ferry bookings and the regular boys who so look forward to the jaunt.

If you agree then I can put you in a room and those who dont may have to find another place if we fill up.

Im now going to compile a list to give the possibles the choice in case some others want to come.

P.S
Oh and I dont need your money for carbon fibre any more. Its rizoma rearsets now:biggrin::biggrin:

I would prefer someone else to confirm a deposit but I would be happy with £30

Please contact me by pm if necessary I wont bite

On;y just read this thread, so might be an idea to start a new one if asking for a deposit?

I'm happy to send over a deposit to someone, both Natalie and I are looking forward to this as it will be our only break this year (Still not regretting the puppy)!

Won't be bringing my camera gear though, apparently Natalie actually wants to take some luggage?!

I think we may have too once we know the final figure. At least then we can discuss our plans or exploits. We can ask J.P to bring his camera then. I was looking at the new canon on the tv and thought mmmm must not.

Albie, Sounds fair to me - cheque posted to tour home address ok?

Is the £30 deposit suggested per person or per room?

Albie
28-06-2010, 09:23 PM
You know if we all go thats 31 of us. There will be a thread started around August regarding the travel plans and we hope to know all the route and times by the belgians. You do not have to follow our lead also. You can do your own thing if you would prefer.

If we doing it I think per person is better. Unless your a couple or does that sound biased.

I have just had one cancellation of a room so room available just about. If anyone can contact Logyk as I hope he is still coming as one of the magnificent 12.:ukm:

I was going to use Norfolk line ferry again

http://www.norfolkline.com/ferry/homepage.aspx?src=nav

Sailing times are every 2 hours. I would probably go for 8am Saturday crossing, and return 2pm Monday. A motorcycle works out at £44 return. I'll check this price is still valid for trike (as for 2008), but oddly enough the same crossing for car costs just £26 return?

Nothing booked as yet - watch this space

Outward: Dover to Dunkirk 10.00 sailing - Sat 18th Sept
Inbound: Dunkirk to Dover 16:00 sailing - Mon 20th Sept

£39 for return fare - cheapest crossing I could find for trike

They also give option to take a crossing either side of your booking at no extra charge

Albie, I know we have had a few drop out but..

Can you ask the hotel to pre-book UKMOC in rooms with the kitchen/diner area. It spoilt the fun last year not being able to socialise after hours. The shared ground floor kitchen's an ideal place to chill after getting back from evening meal, but only if we have the block to ourselves.

Oh... and the G/F kitchen also has a massive fridge ;)

Looked at Stevo63n's profile and his last activity was 12-02-2010 09:26 PM

Think you can safely say he won't be attending MOB2010

Email from Belgium . Alls ok and we are having whole place for the weekend. :D You have access to all areas and fridges. Just bring your beer money.

I have some vacancys I would like to fill or I will have to give single occupancy to those who have made requests.

I have had a PM from Jan MOB regarding our travel plans and whether we all meeting up for lunch.

Need a update for crossing plans and those confirmed and times if possible.

A new thread may start for the travel plans too as this thread is getting tired.

Im off to book my eurotunnel.

Without doubt, the best place around is
http://www.crowncurrencyexchange.com/
You pick a delivery date and the applicable rate. So early Sept. would be 1.2071 today.
They will only deliver to your home address by Royal Mail recorded delivery.

Where as the other rates are
Post office is 1.1558
M&S is 1.1627
Bank around 1.1441

Don't get it from anywhere else.

Err.. try telling that to my bank account. That trip cost me well over a grand

The spare Euros were part of my 'emergency cash fund' for return leg

Take more then that this year Gary, I've got a 'Gary is paying for drinks' voucher to redeem.....

You'll have to get me legless before you can cash it in Jim. Shouldn't be too difficult to achieve as I'm half way there to start with ;)

If you mean the black and red button front shirts they were from 1st trip in 2008

Last years were just '09' embroidered tees

I may pass this year and use my old ones - my T-shirt drawer is overflowing with an UKMOC, MOB, WDW2010 overload

Oh, I think its close enough to the event for me to now say I can come. Bugger, full... typical. Is anyone staying elsewhere/nearby?

slob
15-08-2010, 06:40 PM
Albie is in contact with MOB members living in Buggenhout, so worth dropping him a PM first. There's a hotel near ours called Gasthof Kusnacht, no idea what it's like. If all else fails there's a 'mobike hotel' in Dendermonde that's okay, we stayed there a few years ago.

There is only room at the hotel if you PM Charr to see if she will share. I hope she will as more ladies always needed on these extra special trips. If not we will find you somewhere local no doubt.
