Some little mods:
944 big bore
Race exhaust by D&D, half is 55mm, rest 44mm.
Open airbox with K&N
Dyno jet
Ohlins fully adjustable rear shock
Front forks - well front needs to change ;)
Belly pan & seat cowl
Oddly harsh gearing which makes it go up and up all the way to the end of 3rd gear. Stupidly easy to do it (15/42). Any idea what is a stock gearing for 1993 m900
Oh yes BTW it is a 1993 m900 with 16k miles on it.

from where ??
Northern Ireland (NI).
There is more there as when I was looking for that vintage m900 I seen 3 in uk. One was so ugly, one had 30k and one I did not manage to buy as I was outbid (now I think it was a good luck). In Ireland I seen 6 for sale during the same time, 4 moded more or less and two bang on stock. All of them between 14k and 23k.

I have chooped the tail one time and it did look cool but I did not like the fact that mud from my rear tyre was ending up on my visor ... I am all weather rider on any bike.
Besides I have other idea for that tea tray which involves it staying just in new form.
Belly pan is a maybe.

WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on such an early bike.
absolutely, I think the tea tray was an after thought and not part of the original design, EU regulations forced it etc. In Bologna I didn't see a single Monster with a tea tray, all chopped.
On such a lovely early one I would be extra careful and do a clean job.

If you are going take the belly pan off I'm sure theere will be plenty of interest.

Re: Ohlins remote
You might be able to squeeze it under the seat (between frame rails) if the hose will reach?

Will have a look as I need the space where it is now for those cool CF pods that direct air at rear cylinder.

Keep the bellypan in my opinion, but would def do tail chop, even if you do get a little extra dirty / wet.
Good looking bike though, I used to have d&d stubby cans on my last monster, they were so loud! I loved them!

Cooper I meet today at McDonalds was not impressed but for MOT I had to chop off part of D&D plate on side of exhaust with words "RACE USE ONLY!" so got away.
