Where do you ride? I'm trying to find some decent roads near me, nothing too far as I just want to get up and go. I've found some OK ones in south mimms/ potters bar area, are there any more? (I'm in North London BTW  )

Depending on how early you're prepared to wake up of a weekend, The Square Mile offers some decent roads.

Just one too many prying cameras though!

I am in SE and well takes me 40min to 1h to get during the day if going south, south east direction. North direction is about 1h to 1h 20min. Anyhow as mentioned depends how early are you ready to ride.

I did couple of 3am/4am rides in London and roads are so empty, no hassle except near bar areas!! However going to X-financial district that is now 3rd world due to crisis :D and there is no one there, you are alone in between those buildings, those tunnels. It take 30min or less to get out towards S,SE and 45 min max to north london.

Hiya rac3r. As you know London roads are pretty crap due to the congestion.

if you need a quick fix best to do a quick run on the north circular then head out for a quick one via chipping ongar (A113 -> A128 -> B184)

Did something similar this weekend. A41 to Aylesbury, then A413 to Buckingham, then A422 to Banbury. Once there, you have loads of choice. I wend over to A44 and rode between Moreton-in-Marsh and Evensam, aka Fish Hill”. Check out this little bit of road (zoom out a little!)

I used www.bestbikingroads.com to pick a few routes around the area. Banbury to North London can probably be done in about 2-2.5 hours, so not that far, and it’s great roads all the way there!

Cool link, I think I've seen it before?? :chuckle:

Once I've got some more miles clocked up (and got my uni work out the way :mand: ) I think I need to meet up with some of you Londoners at the Ace or somewhere near me (as I'm completely hopeless with direcitons and don't know how to get anywhere!) so that I can put some user names to faces :chuckle:

Fish hill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favourite road, only 10 miles from my house so next time you lot are down pm me!

I'm there most weekends and sunny evenings and I love it, reckon the road planners that built it were bikers, or suicidal mad men... you say tomato....

Pop into red Dog Superbikes in Potters Bar and speak to Paul my manager ( we are a Ducati dealership ). He knows the roads around there very well and has been out on a number of rides and will be more than happy to give you directions.
