I'm very interested in getting the 'Ducati' text on my clutch over in Red, like in the picture below.

What do you think is the best to get it done, do I need to get my paint brush out? OR vinyl and a knife

It would suit your bike better having it done it the old type font
like on your tank, but it's impossible I guess?

It's raised lettering on the casting, just get your paintbrush out.

Yer it's raised lettering, I was thinking vinyl would be a safer bet as it's removable, but then It might fall off when the engine gets hot.

Anyone got any spare red touch up paint?

Hey guys just after abit of paint advise
do u know the paint code for the 695???
I'm mainly after the black. My searches have come up with the following

PPG Metallic Black 291.500
and also a 291.501

anybody have any ideas of the code?
Also I like the idea of the red lettering

I doubt normal vinyl would stick to it, being fairly rough finish. You could try some nail varnish?

Well I've got myself some red vinyl from ebay for £1, It's actually slightly reflective which I think is pretty cool.

Today I had my first attempt, I'm going to remove it and do it in detail when I have more time and a decent knife.
If I got board with the vinyl it can alway be removed too.

What do you think?

After fitting the vinyl, it got me thinking, maybe you could do it in gold leaf then lacker it, I think that would have a nice effect.

If you want to get the sizing right, go back to your school days and use the brass rubbing technique onto a piece of paper. You'd then have a template to work with rather than having to use the engine casing itself to do all your comparison work. Just a thought... :D

I did that already :D I used grease proof paper and a pencil. But my knife is really blunt.

r66bby I've no idea of the paint codes sorry.
~ from reading previous posts /i hear there are 3 different ducati red's.

I recently could some silver touch up for my fame, but it was cr*p. I think a normally 620 had a different (ligther) sliver than in the senna :( .......... live and learn.
