Hi, Anyone had any experience with the front cyclinder head laquer getting a bit flaky? What's the best way to deal with it?:scratch:

It's the one that gets all of the real abuse, stone chips, coldest air, wettest water so it suffers flaking paint same as the fromt edges of the engine casings.
Best way to deal with it, strip and repaint with something selg healing and impact resistance.

Doh...i thought it was a thread about dandruff...!!

Yep, that's the Ducati legacy, flaky paintwork on the engine.
Fortunately, i had the engine out for the re-build at the beginning of the year, so i just did the best i could with a soft wire brush, then masked up and sprayed it with silver from Halfords, that seems to be doing ok.

worth doing a search on this as there are literally loads of threads about it from back as far as 2002 :)

My 696 did this within a year (never ridden in rain etc). I'm pretty much expecting the same to happen to my 1100.
