Alternatively you could take a file to the worn basket, kept mine going for a while.

It does make the clutch a little louder.

The standard one is steel and acts as a flywheel, an ally one will make the engine spin up a bit quicker, however I'd be wary of cheap ebay stuff as ally will notch easily if its made of soft ally.

I'd go for one of these

Nichols stuff is very well made, CA are real enthusiasts and wouldn't sell rubbish.

MPL make some decent baskets too with steel inserts in the ally where the plates rest

The MPL baskets use titanium inserts. Supposed to last for ever and quieten down noise a lot. I wan't one for trike as original basket's well knackered. Not bad value when you consider stock Ducati basket costs over £100. They also do an anodised Ergal basket for about 180 euros.

No details of insert basket in online shop but there is here... ignore silly AUD $642 price they are cheaper than that direct from Germany - something like 250 euros. I'm going to email them to check if they are still available, because the MPL shop does not list it anymore?

I saw an article on these and have been considering one for the 1100S when it arrives.

But sorry i have to inform you that we don’t have Clutch basket with inserts in program anymore.

Best regards

Oh well - I'll have to go for MPL's Ergal annodised basket instead
