What is it worth?? 750ss

I may have to scrap/break/sell my 750ss....(I really hope not)...but if I do, is this reg worth anything to someone with a 748 engined bike?

P748 *** The last three letters are fairly random.....unless of course they are your initials!?

Also, what is the bike worth sold as a project? If someone has mech' skills I am sure the bike can be fixed very cheaply. Unfortunately I can not justify the labour costs of a mechanic to repair it!

97 750ss 27k, very good condition, good chain/sprockets and tyres, a bit of history, all mots, been a great runner up until now.

Not sure what has happened yet...something to do with the cam belt tensioners or cam belt drive, or the worm drive for the rev counter!!
The bike is making a strange squeaking noise emanating from the cam belt area... it sounds like a car fan belt/alternator belt squeaking!!
I would much rather fix it than sell/scrap it.....

the bloke i use in sevenoak would look at it for you and is way way cheaper then a Ducati dealer(used to work at pro twin) he is very good and very helpfull. pm me if you want his number.
