Replacing my trusty scooter with a 250ie so my mint condition black 2006 (56 plate) Vespa LX125 is for sale.

1 owner (me) and 9000km from new, full service history, all keys, receipts, paperwork etc. in order, HPI clear.

12 months tax, 12 months MOT til 31 July 2010.

Lots of extras including topbox, full front screen, hand and leg covers, totalling nearly £500

Recent front tyre and brand new rear tyre / front brake pads, and none of the usual London commuter scratches / dents down the sides!

The condition really is better than most commuter bikes with half the mileage you see around London.

Looking for £1650 or best offer.

Preferably needs to be a London sale, bike lives generally in Clerkenwell and Dulwich.

cheers!

Ed

I gotta say as a vespa lover u have committed the unforgiveable cardinal sin of both large screen and topbox...not redeemed by the leg warmers :)

good luck it looks like a bargain, and if ur going for the gts250 you'll find it a great bike

Oi, I've got a full size screen, huge top box and the leg cover on my Ducati Vespa. How else can I keep my fishnet covered legs warm? :fou:

but you're a girl. You need to keep your hair neat, legs warm and somewhere to put your make up

(retreats to nuclear bomb proof basement...)

:P

True.

I had a very odd image in my head on your first post - I always assumed you were a fella!

Obviously fishnets on a girl on a scooter are much more acceptable.

Nice bike! And a Bargain. I love the Vespas. Still lust after my old Vespa ET2 50 even though it was slow I still love it. Still thinking about getting another one some day.

You have committed the sin of the skirt and screen but I'll forgive you as you are both a monster and a Vespa rider! Good luck with the sell dude!

It's that topless avatar pic of me, isn't it? Just because I'm not well-endowed, it's rude to assume I'm a fella. :grump:

What's the diff between GTV & GTS?

gtv is more retro - saddle seats and headlight on mudguard, plus a fair few quid more expensive, though the model in the pic is a cheaper version called 'navy' I think - the more expensive version also have leather seats etc

think I'd get one if I went back to a vespa for commuting, lot rarer on the road then the gts :)

Looks like I'm keeping my GT for some time now, as once my mechanic John at Chelsea Scooters has replaced the generator it should be good. I think just about the only thing original on that bke is the frame...

mine was rock solid the 2 years I had it - how many miles do you do?? (admittedly bought mine new, from here which are considerably cheaper than just about any dealer in the country: http://www.tacbikes.com/index.html )

Mine's already 7.5yrs old, and sadly, her first services and a couple of repairs were butchered by Scooters Etc on Farm Lane, who claimed to be an authorised dealer. Instead of screwing things in, they hammered them in, that's the kind of workmanship they had. When things started to fail big time because of their butchering, Piaggio obviously didn't want to know, as it had been serviced by unauthorised dealers during the warranty period.

As it is, the scoot's cost me far more than the Monster has...

that's terrible, couldn't you have taken them to a small claims court of something? if they claimed they were a authorised dealer but weren't etc etc?

Couldn't prove it was them.
