To be honest I cant see a problem with these, but I thought I'd better double check.

Fancy fitting some clear indicators to my 695 and saw these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DUCATI-MONSTER-CLEAR-INDICATORS-2006-2008-CLEAR-LENSES_W0QQitemZ270413720955QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item3ef5e9ed7b&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1683|293%3A1| 294%3A50

Anyone else used them and had problems/found them fine?

I used this supplier from the U.S. the price was good as the £ was strong at the time. They arrived very quickly and were good quality.

hey scoota, yeah i fitted those exact ones, look much better than standard and a cheap mod.

I saw that thread the other day redkite, they look superb but not willing to pay that amount just for indicators at the mo. If i do change my mind though there shouldn't be any problems fitting the new style indicators to an older model should there?

Sorry, I have very little idea of what fits on older models my Ducati experience is limited to S2r1000 and the M1100. Am also not great with electrics, so no good asking me! That's why I like the clear leds (Weiser Motorad) they have built in resistors and it's just plug and play. I didn't think 80 quid for a complete set was too bad really......

Cheers for the replies everyone, just wanted a cheap (but good!) mod like flipper said, not bothered about the led ones though they do look good.

eBay here I come...:)

Dont buy of this guy!!!! I did took weeks to deliver, supplied with wrong bulbs very slow to answer mails, and finally when I told him about the bulbs he ignored my mails.

And to make it worse I didnt like them on.

ideally you want the lenses to be E marked or a fussy MOT tester might pull you up. if they don't say they're E marked then they probably aren't

I bought a set from that seller with no problems - were delivered next day. They look better than the standard lenses and from memory I think they're E marked too.

My only complaint would be that the hole for the screw doesn't have a thread in it so the screws don't bite too well. Haven't fallen off yet though!

also only had a quick look but the bulbs seem to be silver in colour - I was expecting them to be orange - or do they only glow orange when on? feels like a really stupid question to ask...:)

Hey, no when I got mine the actual bulb was orange. Might just be a different type though. only one way to find out, pop the bulb in and try it out :)

well just for the record they arrived very quickly, are e marked, fit fine and the silver bulbs do flash orange!

Only problem is though the bulbs flash orange and are correct (12v 10w) they aren't half the brightness of the clear ones they replaced (I assume cos of the silvering of the glass). So I'm gonna either replace them with orange bulbs or a higher wattage of silver bulb if poss - anyone know if that would cause a problem??

cheers

You could try to find these (extremely illegal :chuckle:)
led replacement bulbs.
They should be very bright and save energy, but as far as i know
none of them are marked with e-numbers.

Something like:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2x-BA9S-Side-Light-Interior-Bulbs-3-LED-Orange-Yellow_W0QQitemZ220310195686QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item334b82cde6&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A12|66%3A2|39%3A1|72%3A1683|293%3A1| 294%3A50

but should have the right socket and resistors

Higher voltage bulbs can harm your instrument cluster

cheers, I might just pop down halfrauds and get the normal orange bulbs, less hassle :)
