Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could recomend a good oil to use on my bike, I am looking to do an oil change pretty soon. Any advise would be most helpful.

Thanks

I have 4 litres of the Ducati reccomended Shell Advance ULTRA 4 15W-50 sitting on my desk waiting for tonight or tomorrow morning.

The manual has a page showing the acceptable oil grade for different temperatures but any good quality synthetic 15W-50 or 10W-40 should do the job in the UK.

Don't forget the drain plug washer should be replaced before reinstalling.

I'm 6 months and 3200 miles in and the oil just looked a bit black so I changed it.

The manual says 3.1 litres but 3 litres took it slightly over the max line even after leaving the oil oil to to drain and leaning the bike over to the right to get the last few drips out.

I filled the new oil filter before attaching it and wiped the seal with clean oil.

Torque settings are:
Oil drain plug with magnet M22x1.5 42NM 38NM Min 46NM Max Notes: LOCK 2 or THREE BOND 1324

Lock 2 is Medium-strength threadlocker, compatible with oil. Loctite 243
