696 Tank Range

Hi all, has been an age since I posted anything or went to a weekender, but i've been loitering around the board still. I'm the one with the 'mini-monster' Honda VTR250 and now I have graduated uni and got a job i'm looking for something a little tastier :)

Can anyone tell me approx. what the tank size, mpg and range of the 696 is please.

Have a test ride on Sat, but as this bike will be my only transport I could do with a good 150 miles from a tank.

3.5 gallon tank, you'll prob get 50-odd mpg on stock pipes and sensible riding, less with an enthusiastic throttle hand and proper fuelling ( i.e. termis &ecu) - think 150 miles is pushing it though with stock tank...

I got about 120miles before the low fuel light came on.

With modest riding I average about (!) 54mpg, but on a long run it webt up to nearly 60mpg. I have onlyonce sen the fuel light and it came on shortly after the 150mile mark. Its plenty as the stock saddle will be causing your behind to beg for mercy long before that! (not to mention the wedding vegetables)

Hi. I have got 160 miles out of a full tank (on one occasion only as a few petrol stations had no fuel one day !) I usually fill up at around 110 - 120 miles to be safe though.

even the 1100 is doing 120 + .I havn't had light come on yet:D

Both new monsters seem pretty good then - my fuel light comes on at around 230 Km (M1100).

I'm getting 140 to the fuel warning light now the termis are on before I got closer to 120.

Did 140 miles last week on main tank and have done 30 miles on motorway on reserve little nervous but had a pint or so spare when i filled up.

I get around 130 - 135 before the light comes on. The best i have had so far is 150 without the light coming on.

About 115 - 120 unless i go on a slow bimble when I can see about 140 till the light comes on

Oooh Rob I wish. I had a ton on saturday for a brief bit. I was surprised when I looked. Still getting great mileage though for now.
