Being bored having to wait for the paintjob to be done, I would
like to show you a mod my father is working on (who is a better craftsmen than me)
for my 620.

It's not finished by now, but keep in mind it's pretty much homemade.
Chopping the tail is no option as the exhausts would stick out too far away,
and chopping them would make them too loud.

My idea was to get it smaller and avoid buying a carbon tail from the dealer,
which would be far too easy :chuckle:.

Oem turn signals will be kept, but have been relocated.

This is how an oem tea tray should look like:

The arches aren't 100% perfect right now, but you can get the idea.
What do you think?

I think it much more respectable. I was sorely tempted to lop 2" of my carbon tray on s4 last year but thought if it goes wrong then seriously knackered it. I think its much better than before and will look great with a lick of paint. I'm going to get tail tidy for new bike. Its even worse than old monster. About a foot long.

I did a DIY version a couple of years back and know the problem faced between needing the tail light bracket, and the nice curve at the end. Having done one that doesn't look standard, i'm soon going to ditch it as no tray at all actually looks ok.
This effort is better still me thinks, well crafted and keeping the standard look

Well done, more pics when painted up please.

Will do, but I'm not sure if I will keep it original

I will have to find a decent place for the numberplate illumination tho.

I would really like to chop the tail and get rid of the tea tray completely,
but I wouldn't want to shorten the exhausts for that reason.

Chopping carbon parts?
I think it's much harder to work with carbon than with plastic,
which in this case costs about 2 to 10 € off ebay.
