The weather is looking great for the weekend anyone fancy a run out, Devils Bridge - Hawes, or Cat & Fiddle - Ashbourne - Matlock, all the usual places or something else round the north west.

I was hoping to get out sometime over the weekend, what day did you have in mind ? Sat or Sun ?

Sat or Sun both good for me, the weather looks fine all weekend, which day is the FA cup final on that might be a good bet a bit less traffic on the road. Any preference where

Saturday morning would be a preference for me, Derbyshire, via the Cat and Fiddle :mand: then on to Matlock and Carrsington Water is a good route. I did this last weekend and stumbled across some cracking B roads in the process. How does that sound ?

Thats a winner i tend to go north via Devils Bridge so a run down to Matlock would be a good change, sat am fine with me. Meet up at the Harley store say 10 ???

where is the Harley store you're meeting at?

Its on the junction of St Marys way (A626) and Hempshaw lane. Easiest way is to exit the M60 at Jct 27 and head up the A626 (with the Tesco behind you) for a couple of miles. Pass all the car dealers and the harley store is on the left.

Hope you can make it, i'm gonna have a few quite ones on Friday night and get to bed early, save the loud ones for saturday :mand:

im always tempted, but being a new rider im always afraid ill either: -

a. ride safe and slow you all up
b. try and keep up and end up in a hedge

but this week sat morning ive got a run planned, so buggers both, rain check for next time, problem is I need a bit of notice to get the all clear from the misses :D

Ok guys I'm on for this, having a small bbq at home instead, and I think it's about time us northern lot started meeting up! Going to try to get my mate on his S2R along too.

I'm in Cheadle, just looking on Google maps for this Harley place now...

Will have my tank bag as I'll bring my camera stuff and see if I can get some good pics while we're out? Maybe find a nice corner and get a couple of shots of you lot if you don't mind?

I'd like to make this one as well. Will try and negotiate with the lady but I've got some new pipes due for delivery Saturday morning, so may have to wait until the next one.

Like the idea of us lot meeting up though. It's about time, there's a few of us around the Stockport area with monsters.

Weather forecast is fantastic!

I'll be visiting Rossendale for a long weekend, hopefully next weekend weather permitting.
It's where i'm from originally, got a few biker mates up there, so i'll put a shout out on here when i'm going up, haven't been to the Bridge for about 20 years, managed Rivvy Barn last year for the Ducati day, so it's the Bridge this time, be good to meet up.

Hows it going Jim?

aceg3905 - More than welcome to come mate, ride your own ride we'll have plenty of stops so no need to think you'll be holding anyone up.

Ive been checking out the AUTOROUTE trying to work out the ride I went on last weekend, I'll have no problem remembering it when I'm out but its roughly like this -

A6 to Macclesfield, Over the Cat and Fiddle, Left to Buxton, A6 to Matlock, right on the B5035 to carsington water then Ashborne, Right A515 then bare right onto the B5056 (fantastic road), Left onto the A5012 (fuel stop at the end) Right on the A515, Right A5270 then onto the B604 to Tideswell and Bradwell (fantastic route and scenery with plenty of nice traditional English pubs all serving food if we want it). Then onto the A6187 near Hope, Left on A6013 to Barnford then Left onto the A57 Snake Pass to Glossop and then back to Stockport. Phewww !!!!

How does that sound ????

With plenty of stops I recon were looking at arriving back at the Harley Store for around 2 or 3pm

Sounds good guys, doubt my mate can make it when we start but he may try and meet us on route.

You can lead the way then Judge, to be fair it's hard to have a bad ride round that area so quite happy if we don't stick to plan.

Looking forward to it!

Yeah, still haven't got the BHP sheet off him yet, i forgot it when i picked the bike up.
I think the fuel problem was down to the main feed pipe being kinked when you lower the tank, you have to just push it in whilst lowering the tank and i think that could well be the problem.
I went out to Betws Y Coed this afternoon with my mate from Anglesey, he has a 1979 600 Darmah, anyway the ride went ok, no probs, so i'm hoping that was the problem.
I'll give you a shout when i'm coming up, ok mate?
Have a good weekend Jim.

Might tag along tomorrow.Presume you,ll be riding thro' Poynton to get to Macc, if so I'll join you there.
You will have to excuse the filthy bike as I've not had chance to clean it since returning from our Euro tour on Monday.

Well I arrived at the Harley store at around 0940, got a cup of cheap instant coffee from the pitstop, sat down on the floor and looked up at my 695 shining in the sun, what a great way to start the day.

I thought I heard the sound of thunder but it was mazydog arriving on his shiney yellow monster, those pipes got to be heard to be believed.

LouSCannon then arrived on his 695 in black and red with termis just like mine and after a quick chat we were on our way on the back route up to Poynton where we stumbled upon robot on his S4R tucked away in a shop doorway.

Away we went at a nice steady pace over the Cat and Fiddle, through Buxton and on to Matlock where we stopped for an ice cream in the shade as the sun was beating down. LouSCannon took the opportunity to get a few snaps of the bikes as they passed.

Back on the road we headed up towards Carsington water and then split off on to some fantastic B roads where we got the chance to open it up a bit and have some fun !

We eventually arrived back in Buxton and had a welcomed soft drink before robot took the lead and lead us on some fantastic roads through hope valley and on to the A57 snake pass where we got the chance to open it up a bit again and have some more fun !

We then arrived in Glossop where mazydog split and head home, the rest of us headed towards Marple where robot departed and myself and LouSCannon headed through Romiley. We then split at Bredbury and the ride was at an end.

What a fantastic day, great weather, great roads, great bikes great lads,

Can't wait for the next one, lets make it soon :mand:
