Hi all been working on my engine recently: repainted; nichols flywheel and opened wet clutch cover with lexan! Sent the loose engine to have the valves re-shimmed and turns out the two opening rockers on front head have lost all their plating!!
I either cough up £240 for a pair of new rockers or find used ones, but no luck so far. But then a breaker i contacted tells me that the later carbed 750 heads should fit my 1999 m600, and he has got them for £300 for a pair, and all rockers are fine! That would give me larger valves which sounds good, doesnt it?
Checked ducati parts catalogue and sure enough the cylinder head gasket, cam, cam pulley, cam belt are all the same parts! I think the only reason the cylinder heads have different part numbers is because they are supplied with valve seats and guides pre-installed.
So does anyone know if they will fit and be a straight swap? Same cams surely means the cams wont have to be dialled in?
Then again anyone know where i can get good condition used rockers?
Thanks
