Rules & guidelines for the weekend

The Monster Weekender endeavours to be a particularly relaxed affair - however, there are a few points that our hosts and the organisers would like you to consider, in an effort to ensure the weekend runs smoothly.

• We are guests of Denis Woodham at Arrow Mill, please respect your surroundings, and certainly no unnecessary engine noise in the hotel grounds.

• Please ensure you have a full tank of fuel prior to embarking on the National Rideout on the Sunday, and also if you are joining the rideout on Saturday. There is a fuel station approximately 1 mile from the Arrow Mill, on the A46/A435 junction roundabout.

• It is particularly important during group rideouts (and especially the National Rideout with typically in excess of 60 bikes), that you ride in a controlled manner with due courtesy to those around you. Marshals will be on hand to ensure the group maintain a steady progress.

• All bikes going on the rideouts must be in a roadworthy condition. You are deemed to be in control of your own machine at all times, and solely responsible for your own actions.

• Please do not bring alcohol into the hotel grounds. The hotel has two bars, and these are reasonably priced - especially during happy hour.

•*The UKMOC will take no responsibility for any accidents/injuries howsoever caused, and ask that all members make sure that they have adequate insurance cover for themselves and their Monsters.

Other things to note

There will be a briefing before each ride out. Please pay attention to these, particularly if you are not used to mass ride outs.

General ride rules:

The ride will be lead and tailmarked by known riders (hopefully in hi-viz). Do not pass the leader.

Other marshalls will be within the pack to block junctions where safe, etc. Please let them pass you.

Please avoid passing other riders in the group, except where appropriate (eg. Fish Hill!)

Ride offset from the rider in front of you

Keep sight of the rider behind you at all times. Stop at junctions for them if you can't see them. The theory is that if everyone does this, we shouldn't lose anyone!

These will be repeated at the weekender. We don't want to impose rules, but these are for everyone's safety and enjoyment.

And for anyone who has a Garmin Zumo - feel free to find me before the Saturday rideout, and I'll copy the route onto your unit!
