Got from our break in Scotland. A quaint little cottage converted from a milking shed nr Loch Avich which is 18mls south of Oban on the west coast. The cottage is on a narrow track road with passing places and 4 mile from the nearest main road and was windy and hilly. A place called Maolochy and is one of 8 cottages in a 9 mile stretch.
It was a nice drive up of 560miles in mainly rain but sunday was a good dry day as well as the last day friday when we cycled the around loch Avich 14 miles on the road as well as forestry road. Chose the right direction which was steep at first then a good long hill down for a mile. Pretty much up and down but Caroline was struggling with some ascents so we pushed some. Considering she is a novice she did remarkably well and I'm well proud of her.
Views were spectacular and on the friday we saw a pair of Golden Eagles just hovering above us. Saw three in one week but may have been same one.

Did loads of walking too a 5mile 2 lochs walks and the falls walk.

Cottage was quaint with an electric AGA type stove which was a joy to cook on and I did all the cooking much to Carolines delight. No TV and no phone signal was the main reason for choice here and well worth doing.

Thoroughly enjoyed our break from reality and totally recommend this place if anyone wants to stay there.

PS the cottage garden is a 3 acre garden on the side of the mountain and landscaped with walks and a stream ,3 bridges, and waterfalls with gates to the mountain and forests. Amazing.

That looks stunning. Sounds like bliss too no TV or phone, my idea of heaven, especially with waterfalls and hills. Is it expensive?

Well we dont think so for such views and location. We paid £250. Prices range from £230-350 depending on season.

I wont ride a bike without them. We chose a decent one to make us feel better. BELL. TBH you dont even know you have them on but I do probably look like a nob but then I am LOL

Alan evening entertainment was wine or southern comfort, a jigsaw or book and IPOD dock and then early bed. What else could we do.

Seems really good value for such a beautiful place. If it had been the Dales it probably would have been more expensive.
