Filling the tank

When I fill the tank to the brim on the S4R is that it? I have heard on the Multistradas that they get an airlock and you should wait a bit so the air lock clears and a couple more litres can fit in.

I get 85 miles to the fuel light at 10.5 ltrs on the S4R, so there should be 4.5 litrs left BUT I am worried about air locks in the tank.

What do we know? As there is a funny splash guard thing in the tank.

There's a drain hole in the filler neck if you look carefully, fill it beyond that and it should drain the excess away. Multistradas may be a bit different since they have a second, hidden tank section under the seat.
