Hi all
I've had Bella, my 1996 750 Monster for 3 weeks now.
The first 2 weekend were quite warm and she ran fine.
This weekend though, we got caught in a shower & it was quite cold, maybe 3 or 4 degrees.
After 7/8 mins warming up, then a 20/30 min ride (and running fine), she started to cut out when i pulled up and stopped.
Any suggestions?
Cheers
Dave

Did it restart again after a few minutes? If so, it sounds like carb icing. Do a search on here for more info and how to deal with it.

yes, reluctantly, it needed some throttle to get going.
but she wasnt happy at all, really struggling to tick over and cutting out intermittently

Just looked at carb icing.....it sounds like it could be that.
I'll give that fuel treatment a try + some super unleaded.
thanks for the help

My M600 did it on Sunday, everytime i stopped it wouldn't idle and cut out, especially at lights etc.
I think its carb icing, never had it before though

yeaa mine does this but on the in rain isn't it where the engine cools down too much?? just keep the throttle revving when you stop

I'm having to keep my M600 revving constantly at the mo, hence the full service on wednesday this week...it's a right pain...need an extra hand...he even konked out on me mid-roundabout in the cold...gonna do the search for carb-icing...

its worth a try......
As I said, Ive had my bike for 3 weekends, the first 2 were quite warm and dry. Only this w/e has it happened to me, when I get caught in a shower.
Is it the same for you guys?
I dont really mind her cutting out in the rain as I dont intend for her to ger wet again.....shes a toy for me not a work horse.
So long as she runs fine on the sunny days I'll be happy

cheapest i've seen linked to from UKMOC is this (5 litres ~£12):

do a forum search on Isopropyl Alcohol and satisfy yourself that it's the same stuff
