I am looking at a set of showa front forks from Ducati 851 on ebay. According to the seller they should fit a 90īs ducati monster.

Will they fit a 1995 600 m without a modifications to the brake etc?

If they're the same that were on the 90s SS/SL yes, they will, but you'll have to either rise the bar or go clip-on(in this case you'll also need a longer brake hose)..check with seller,is the best way..you will need:
top and bottom outer sleeve diameter
distance on calipers mount
axle diameter
also worth asking of measurement from centre of axle to top caliper mounting for disc diameter.
Post some piccies and I could help you a bit more

The S4 range runs on a slightly modded 851/888 frame, I don't think the M600 uses the same frame.

That looks very like the Showa adjustables I've presently got on my '93 m900. The adjusters are very tight to the handlebars, but the fork leg is flush with the top of the yoke and I didn't need to space the handlbars up. It would be worth asking for the sizes though, like Pomp1 suggests.

My German's a bit vague, but 46 Euros would be a result: what's the p&p like?
If it's cheap enough it's worth a punt!

paid 100 quid for the same thing, they'll 99.9% fit: they're 900ss showa adjustable, if you buy them and need the standard settings as a starting point,I've got them.My german is non-existent, but if he says that they could fit a 916 is wrong, all 916 had different showas, 53 mm all along the outer and 65mm calipers mount, me think
PDL, all early monster are derived from 851/888, in fact monster were started as a way of using up old stock, like the 851/888 frames and swingarm and the 900ss engine(originally, they were intended to use the 888 4 valves engines), they've changed the frame removing the rear aluminium subframe and replaced with a full trellis and a further cross brace.Later monster ,like S4,have more in common with the 999 frame(tube size and steering angle,I think).
Darkness, if you fit this forks flush to the yoke, you'll change the geometry (longer wheelbase: slower turn-in,more understeering, but more stability at high speed), you'll have to set them up considering the static sag of the bike, that's why you either rise the bars or use clip-ons.

Almost right I believe, I think later (S*/ie) monsters use an ST derived frame.

The ST uses a modded 851/888 frame.

And that is the reason the 996 engine in the ST4 and S4R makes more Bhp than the 996 in the 996 sportsbike, because Ducati had to reduce the head and internals to fit it in the frame and in doing so released more ponies.
