Anyone out there got any advice on my dilemma, I was gonna go for a Quat-d Ex box but then I saw the stumpy Termi !!

I'm torn between the two........ any advise either way would be much appreciated.
Cheers

Termi, no question... That stubby is the best exhaust I have ever seen on a S4...

I decided on the ex-box, although it's a personal thing, so get whatever turns you on.

I bought my RS in Apr 06 and I've had an Ex Box on it for almost 3 years now. I wanted something away from the norm, and also to free up the beautifull single sidey. So I have to go with it, although I do like the Termi.
I get lots of admiring glances and comments, and people asking about it.
But like Blu says, it's a personal thing.

To be honest, i'm cackin' it at the mo`.
I ordered the box just before xmas, the only ones they had in stock had cats fitted, i didn't need a cat (carbs), so they said i would need to wait for the next batch to come in from Italy in mid-March!
So, i rang the supplier this Monday and they said they were waiting for an e-mail from the manufacturers confirming delivery dates, i paid £100 deposit when i ordered it.
I really don't want to have to put the standard system back on for the weekender, it'll look sh1te, the bike is being re-built with the ex-box in mind, eek!!

Sorry to hear that you've been waiting for a while, fingers crossed you get it in time. Enjoy the weekender, I may be up for a blast on the Sun, so would be good to see ur bike if you've got it.
And have a brew n a chat.

Cheers

Yea, be good that Deano.

I've got around four weeks to get the bike re-built and set-up at the dyno mans.
I've been waiting for the top and bottom yokes to come back from the polishers.
Got them back, lookin' good, so i'm hoping to have a rolling chassis by the end of next week.
The engine also needs a good scrub, then some smoothrite silver applied.
Your bike looks brilliant mate, of course the ex-box makes all the difference eh? lol.

I've had the stubby termi on my tricolore since new and to my mind it's the best solution to show off the single sided swing arm and rear wheel. When it was first fitted the throttle was like an on-off switch but after fitting a DP ecu the problem went away, so all i have to now is get out on it and put some miles on the clock :o

I too had the same quandry, in the end availability swung it for me: exbox - no definite delivery date. Then I found a practically new Termi Stumpy on fleabay for £200 - looks & sounds fantastic!

I'm still on the lookout for a decat pipe though - so if anyone has one hiding with the rocking-horse poo....

I thought someone on here said you an't put a decat pipe on a stubby exhaust ( or am I imagining it?)
I think the stubby looks great, by the way.

Singletrack's right the stubby is designed to be used with the cat. How does it run with the stubby on? have you taken the baffle out?

Saw a S4RS in Snells yesterday with the stubby and thought it looked fantastic.Thats what the Streetfighter needs.

Oh yeah, the baffle never went in!

It runs absolutely fine with the stumpy and I haven't done any work to either the fuelling or airbox.

The guy I bought it off of had been running it with a decat pipe, alas I didn't win his auction for the pipe only the can. What would be the potential ramifications of running it with a decat pipe & why should the stumpy not be used with one please?

Thankyou.

If I can't get/use a decat pipe, my other thought was to remove the pipes/collector & spray them a matt black to make them less obvious. Any thoughts anyone?

I have the stubby on my monster, I really like the look. I took off the pillion pegs so the rear wheel plus swing arm looks (in my opinion) pretty good.

Deano mate.

What is the function of the spare outlet that comes with the box?
12486

As you can see from this pic: 12487 the top outlet is blanked.
What is the difference and when do you decide when to replace the blank?

Cheers,

G.

Stu, which bellypan do you have fitted to your S4RS?

Did it (or the bike) require modification or did it just fit out of the box?

Cheers
