..........look familiar to anyone...........the all new (nicked a load of ideas from somewhere else) 2009 Honda VTR 250. Or is just me that thinks this is an atempt at a nearly complete copy of a monster???

Yeah exactly the same as the Suzuki Gladius 650 - I think Ride magazine mentioned that it was a Monster rip off - very true, they have no soul.

Wikipedia is reassuringly accurate on this one
"It is often seen as the learner alternative to the popular Ducati Monster, with a mimic Trellis frame and initially a a similar instrument layout, with no tachometer. A tachometer is featured on 2003-present models."

LOL CAn't imagine the engines sounding anything like the real deal though, you can't imagine the japs engineering in such a mechanically noisey motor, poor riders would be thinking they were about to fall apart

nothing surprises me anymore about the japanese bike manufacturers and the inability to make trends, one day they'll try to build a desmo as well..

Don't mean to be a kill sport, But Honda did this style from years ago when it first made the VTR, Ealiest I can see is about '98. So they made a model with a half trellis frame styling taken from the Monster of the day maybe, now its gone full circle, the Italians are styling the 696 on the VTR.....

Personally I like it, reminds me of my Monsters (looks more like them than a new Monster), looks like a lot of fun.
JamesH had one of the older ones, a grey import, he liked that.

Don't they say imitiation is the sincerest form of flattery?

It's a motorbike, they have two wheels and a headlight, they all look the same to me....
