Steering dampers

Can anyone tell me whether the "Ducati Perfomance" steering damper kit for a 2001 - 2003 S4R is the same one as for a 2001 S4 - I think it is but need to be sure before I purchase :scratch:

unlikely.
AFAIK, S4R steering damper is a small transverse FGubellini unit that mounts on the risers and ignition switch. Since the 2001 S4 has clipons (of a sort), you'd need a much longer side mounted unit.

Both are transverse and look very similar but the S4 one wont fit mate..

Thanks guys - now I'm even more confused :worried:

I've looked up the part numbers in the DPM catalogues (my last post) and both reference the same part number 96607100B. I know someone selling one he had for his S4R and he reckons it'll fit my 2001 S4.

It looks like this....
