Thinking about getting one for myself..I mean my son (!!)

Anyone here got one - what do you think ? Are they as versatile as the marketing speel would have you believe..?

Ive just bought play TV (like Sky+) for the PS3 - I am told that I can remotely dial into the PS3 and use the Play TV function - effectivley turning the PSP into a TV tuner (plus I can watch recorded programmes etc) - anyone know if this is right ?

Finally I see there are 2 versions the PSP3000 (better picture and built in mic) and the slightly cheaper slim and lite version - would be interested to hear which people have

Thanks in advance for any advice...!

I have one of the old style ones, have had it for years. I find it keeps me sane on the 1hr 40min commute to work. I only use for games and have no idea about the ps3 functionality as I went the xbox route.

Sorry I can't be much more help.

I've had an original PSP for about 3 years. I don't use it much as the technology has moved on.

I'd recommend an iPod Touch as a more modern alternative, as it's generally much more versatile, and games are much cheaper. You can also watch TV through iPlayer over WiFi, (or ripped DVDs).

There are a few decent games on the iPod Touch (or iPhone) and they're certainly less expensive than PSP games.

Incidently, here are the Apps I've developed for the iPhone / iPod Touch... :)

(these links require iTunes installed)

Rattlesnake (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=291822368) - classic snake, retro-style

Toy Car (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=296500061) - virtual friction-powered toy car

Cheers,

I've played that rattlesnake one, it's quite good.

got a slim PSP and it's basically the same as a PS2 but handheld obviously. I think it's ace, given how small it is. really enjoy it. loads of good games out there. Bet you can pick one up cheaply these days.
