Well the monnie is acting quite useful and reliable (for a while):p
However late night returns from work have reminded me how awful the headlight is. I have replaced the lens with the BMW left dip one - but the light pattern is still rubbish it really needs a good reflector and lens.
Also I don't thinkn the floppy headlight mounting helps as the beam vibrates all over the road like a strobe :worried:
Has anyone found a better headlight that fits?
And can you tighten up the headlight mounts without shaking the bulb to bits??
- its a 97 M900
all help appreciated

I put a "Blue style" higher wattage bulb in mine and it improved visibility lots - not expensive either (fleabay jobbie).

I've gone for one of the Phillips "moto vision" bulbs, with orange tinted glow
It's a bit brighter and the spread of beam better focused

harley have 7'' clear lenses now on 2005 up models that seem very powerful especially with new PIAA white buls but i do not know if such lenses are available for Ducati.

Thanks all.
I have got a brighter (Phillips blue ultra) bulb in so I am looking at getting a more efficient beam pattern.
That is a good idea Jerry I will look at the Harley lights. Has anyone tried these Wipac Freeform lights
http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/prod/Wipac_freeform.html trouble is they are sold in pairs although these look similar http://www.moss-europe.co.uk/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=10203.
Now I just need to tighten up the wobbly mountings

Try checking fork set-up for spring preload & damping
Bouncy headlamp could be caused by over stiff front end?

Thanks but I think that I have the forks fairly soft to match the back it doesn't pogo or spring on the front end although the forks are a bit vague imho (it is a 97 with the adjustable marzocchis)
Using the international standard method of checking for light-wobble by seeing unexpectedly high reflections off roadsigns.... I think that I have eliminated half the wobble by putting 0.5mm washers around the mounting collars. Now the 1997 mounting rubbers are under more pressure.
However using a handy wall it seems that the beam pattern is sh1te (even with the BMW LH dip lens on) as it still dips higher on the right (a bit) so a decent reflector next I think
