Do you know exactly what the differences are Seby?

1000SS & Monster are the same?
Hypermoto & Multistrada are the same?
what about Sport Classic?

'heavy modification' is not the exact difference I was looking for,
I want to know what I need to machine off where etc. if I do manage to get hold of the wrong motor.

....without having to 'borrow' benson's Hyper', strip it and dry fit to to my spare Monster frame (sorry benson).

2 solution to fit hyper mts engine

1 fit a 998 swingarm and u need as well a cnc shock linkage
2 create on the engine base 2 place where to fit bearings because hyper n mts are smaller (carter stretti)

my suggestion is 1000ds from ss or monster and a 1100 bigbore kit

I guessing that the main problem with fitting the Multi or Hyper engine is the swingarm bearings - IE The swingarm bearings for the Monster are in the back of the engine, whereas the swingarm bearings for the Multi and Hyper are in the swingarm.

If you wanted to keep the Monster double (or single) sided swingarm, I suspect you'd have to bore out the back of the engine to fit the Monster bearings.

Otherwise... how about dropping the Multi engine in and bolting on an 848 swingarm...!!!

In the mean time I'm off to find out whether 999/749 has bearings in swingarm or engine.

Easier said than done they quoted me a maximum 10 weeks after payment......it took them nearly 7 months to deliver and its not a direct fit still needing some modding, don't think I'll be using them again..
