I saw this on ebay
1100 engine (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ducati-Hypermotard-Engine-1100-2008-inc-oil-cooler_W0QQitemZ150307917853QQcmdZViewItem?hash=it em150307917853&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1299%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C 240%3A1318)

and it made me wonder...........
how easy would it be for you to make your own 1100 Monster?

We were speaking to a young Dutch guy, riding a Brough Superior! at Assen a couple of years ago. He reckoned eBay had totaly destroyed the classic bike game since the 'magical' been in a barn for 65 years finds had gone for ever.

Besides there's little chance of a great bargain on this, since when emailing the seller about other related parts, he said he'd had five people already ask him the same question!... plus there's a chance it won't fit in a Monster frame (apparently a Multi won't). I'm going to have to go and measure one carefully, this week.

I know, I would keep it in my front room on the coffee table and start it up when I got bored.

I'd guess it was pulled 'cos someone made him an offer he couldn't refuse, sadly it wasn't me! He'd had about 5 people ask about the availability of throttle bodies/injectors etc. when I emailed him. I'm not even 100% sure it'd fit in a Monster chassis since I've been told a Multistrada motor won't.

My hunt for a 1000/1100DS project motor continues...

I'd keep mine in a trellis frame at anywhere over 4000revs.
