I added this to the end of another thread but thought I'd post it on its own too and see what peopel think about heated stuff.

I've seen these for 29.99.

I've got oxford grips on at the moment but only the left one works and to be honest the heat doesn't come through my gloves. The wind does chilling my fingers to the bone but not the heat. Go figure.

My other thought is these so I can use them under any gloves. Has anyone used these before?

As far as I can see there's no temperature control on these though which might be a problem.

I've found Gerbing stuff with temperature control but it gets expensive. Its about 60 quid for the liners then 50 quid for the controller.

Think I'm going to get one of these though just to see what its like. The ad reads like it comes with the gloves too.

I like the idea of heated stuff but am convinced that whatever you get, it needs to be fed from the bike's battery. So you need a load of wiring and that puts me off. Especially on a pared down Monster. Try the Hein Gericke Pathan gloves. They are amazing.

The last link doesn't work BTW.

this one should work.

seen the thread on here about waistcoats from maplins. This one is battery AND 12v with a lead so should fit to the bike.

Know what you mean about all the wiring but over the last 2 days my hands have suffered.

I spent decent money on some Alpinestar winter gloves and am not pleased. I'm nervous about spending more money on new gloves if they're not an improvement.

I have a 45 mile ride to work so I need to know my hands will be warm.

Might ebay the alpinestars and look for soemthing else at the Bike show.

The problem with gloves (like hands) is they have a vast surface area per volume, so coupled with their expeosed position they'll always get really cold regardless of how insulated they seem.
Mittens or muffs are the answer as this significantly reduces the surface area but with mitts you get much less dexterity (not that frozen fingers help) I've heard 'lobster claw' mitts are a really good compromise but haven't tried them myself.
